Supported Cameras

Under Consideration

Is there a current list of supported cameras? I do not want to "trial and error" to see if a particular camera is supported.

Is there a current list of supported SPORTED PRODUCTS?

Should not take more then a day to make?

And still after a year nothing?

Everything is trial and error, even when it is in the supported list :-D

Erik,

As most IP cameras can supply MJPEG images, most are actually supported. You just need to understand which setting goes where, and why. (And with a lack of documentation, it's trial and error).

Also, the camera discovery/recognition procedure is shaky, flaky and not reliable, to say the least.

I suggest that as you add a camera, abort the autodetect immediately and add it manually instead.

I am successfully using AXIS cameras in my multiple installations.

Zipato is the best home automation system I ever had. I want to know something, does the zipato support the Yoosee IP cameras? Here is the product info http://www.yooseecamera.com These cameras claimed to meet the ONVIF version 2.4, Profile S standard. By the way, what protocol should be used to connect with the Zipato, is it RTSP?

Hi, most likely it will work. The manufacturer is Bessky (if I remember correctly). I would expect to be able to integrate without issues.

I have been told from the distributor of Zipato products where I live the key is that the IP camera supports ONVIF protocol and the fact that they can provide stream/snapshots links to be configured on zipato controllers. I havent got to that stage on my system but will definitelly add cameras to it at one point.

Hi, I just have configured a couple of Axis IP cameras and there are still some bugs. But stream, low quality and high quality videos can be seen through my Zipatile, live.

The key was to match the proper URLs for each.

Issue with FTP still waiting for ticket answering.

Great info here: https://community.zipato.com/topic/guide-needed-for-zipabox-and-mjpeg-cameras

Hope it helps

Pablo,

Could you kindly post the contents of the camera-related fields from the Control Center so I can compare and try to figure out what I have wrong for my Axis cameras?

Hello Robert,

Yes of course. See attached a printscreen. I explain you the steps I have followed:

* First of all check your Axis camera user manual (the complete one). And there is somewhere where it explains how to stream the video.

* Go to the camera and define:

- A user only for viewing, without any control or admin capabilities. In my case my camera supports ONVIF users, but didn't manage to work with it. So I created a normal user, only for viewing.

- 3 different streaming profiles. I my case, I have created one for streaming, one for HD and one for SD. Important for me was to use MPEG compresion. H264 was not working for me.

* Streamming profiles must work with http://... and not with rts://... or similar. RTS is not working for me.

* If you are not using port 80 (by default), make sure on your router that port is open for the ip of your camera

* Go to my.zipato.com and create the camera. Automatic discovering wizard was not working for me, so do it manually typing the local ip of your camera.

* Check on your manual the route for streamming MPEG (http://...) and the Snapshot (.jpg)

* Attached you will see the what has worked for me:

- /mjpg/video.mjpg?streamprofile=[name_of_streamming_profile]]http://[your_camera_local_ip]/mjpg/video.mjpg?streamprofile=[name_of_streamming_profile]; for stream, hd and sd fields

- /axis-cgi/jpg/image.cgi]http://[your_camera_local_ip]/axis-cgi/jpg/image.cgi, for the snapshot

* Synchro and test on my.zipato.com by clicking Play button of your camera (pop up appears with the 3 streamming profiles), and try also snapshot button

* Regarding viewing issues for myself on my.zipato.com:

- Streamming through my.zipato.com I can only see "Streamming" profile. HD and SD player embbeded on the my.zipato.com is not loading the video

- I can see the snapshot properly through my.zipato.com

* Regarding viewing issues for myself on my Zipatile:

- I can see all the 3 streamming profiles

- I cannot see the snapshot. Issue is FTP is not working for me. The reason of the FTP need is explained on the link I posted two comments above. I am waiting for Zipato team solving my support ticket.

* Regarding viewing issues from my mobile app (Android latest version phone):

- I can see no stream. App stops and closes it self when clicking any of the 3 streams

- I can see no snapshot

Hope this helps! I took me some time to find this solution, even if it is not comple yet.
