Trying to set up virtual alarm, but zones keep reporting "not ready"

Not a Problem

I've setup a couple of zones where I have two Aeotec multisensors detecting motion. Both of them report being "not ready", making it so that I can't arm the alarm. I've tried bypass, which makes them ready, but before just accepting that as a fix, I'd like to understand why they are exactly "not ready" and what I need to do do to set them being ready. Does it have something to do with existing rules for the same devices being active? (I tried disabling them, having no effect)

Weirdly, sometimes after I clicked bypass and then back, it actually was reported being "ready", but it's been more a random even than a thing that happens often.

Anyone have any ideas what might be causing these?

I would not be surprised if you've made the same misstake I did.

When setting up the zones you add a device and then defining the alert status state it should be in "when OK" (ie when enabling the alarm), not the other way around. Me personally thought it would be defining the "alert state" and I had the same kind of problems you experience.

I guess the intermitent "ready" reports you experience is due to the sensor reporting "motion".

Damn, I totally misunderstood what "ARM STATE" means, seems like it is now working. Thanks for the tip!
