Virtual meters get reset randomly

Need Answer

Hello,

Can someone give me an explanation why almost all of my virtual meters are reset randomly.

See attached picture of one of them. VP Starter is a counter which adds up +1 every time the switch VP Status is turned on. Works for several days but is reset now and then ??? Box is not restarted. Drives me crazy ???

Do I need to contact support to have this investigated ??

have tried using a variable instead? I thought meter had a maximum value of 100, but looking at your graph it might be 300.

Hello Adrian,

Yes, I started with variables but was told that they will not survive a box reset. I was adviced to use virtual meters instead but I have too much troubles with them as well.

Just try to have a counter or value update with help of some rules....works for a couple of days but then suddenly back to zero.... or another crazy value....

Torbjorn,

I think you need to involve support on this. You are correct, if you use a variable, the data will be lost if the box reboots.

Unfortunately, it seems that you can't rely on any value to be preserved for any length of time in the Zipabox, not at the moment. All my rules are built around this assumption. Everything is calculated from values available in the Zipabox after a reboot or sent in from outside sources.

This should definitely change!
