Need Answer

I want to measure the power that my solar panels are generating. I don't want to do it via web requests.

What module can I best use for this.

I guess it depends on how much power your solar panels generate, you have a few options, check these for power ratings;

i use 3 clamp http://aeotec.com/z-wave-home-energy-measure

Happy with it, however installation seams to be easier with zipato's accordingly to the manual

would recommend you to download the manual and plan the installation comparing to how it looks like at your place before deciding on the product. I have no ide of your electricity knowledge, but as a general information. Be sure what you are doing or get help if you going for aeotec since its not only to find the incoming cables and set the clam around it.

I am an electrician by trade and here in Holland the incoming mains cable is easy to reach.

I was thinking on using the Zipato power meter but I have no way of mounting it in a decent way. I am also considering to use the Zipato power module but it's pricy.
