What's the current status of Nest Protect support? I read a post from a while back which didn't sound too hopeful, but I know a lot of stuff has been done with the Nest thermostats since.

At the moment NEST is generally supported on our platform and many users are currently using the thermostats and/or smoke sensors without much problems. We have made a lot of improvements around NEST technologies and the improvements should become available to all users with the next firmware update. Although we are still limited by the way the NEST API is functioning, as it is limiting the number of commands it can receive and process in a minutes time, but we're dealing with it as best we can.

How can I include the Nest Protect smoke detectors in the Zipatile?
I couldn't get this to work through the 'Add device' function and then go for the "Nest" logo on the screen so I guess this requires somewhat more manual work?
I'm relatively new to the subject.
