can we have a sensor device for when the internet connection is lost please. I think I remember seeing somehting like this in the Zipatile puzzles, but I can't be sure.

Not sure either. I keep losing wifi connectivity every day on my zipatile (it simply turns off the wifi until i touch the display - very annoying) and have no idea when happens. It just happens

I'd like to see configurable sensors for connectivity both for internet and for 3G Backup USB-stick, with useful properties like LinkStatus [UP|DOWN], SecondsSinceLastConnection [numeric] etc.

If we had a sensor that determines on/off line status, you could then create variables for time. But again, i suggest a proper timestamp variable not the overdrawn method of posting each variable , hour, minute, second,etc ,etc.

I have posted a request to have the [NOW] object expanded with a property for UnixTime.
Please vote for that if you too feel a need for this...
