Whishlist for Zipatile/Box for me
Hello,
i have a Zipabox and a Zipatile working in a Cluster. Zipabox at the Moment has no Devices connected, because of Problems and ultra slow Sync. Because of working KNX/IP on Zipatile it is not really needed for me. First of all i have to say, that with each Firmware it is getting better to work with Zipatile. Some small glitches are still there, only hard bug is the not reconnecting WLAN on loss of WLAN-AP. But there are some Features i would like to see, some of them are in development.
My installation has a decent size: Power/Lights and Blinds with KNX, Z-Wave Sensors for Movement, Windows, Heat, Smoke, Water and Power, Some Z-Wave Switches, Some IP-Cams, Some NEST Smoke-Sensors, Hue Lamps and Strips, some Lightify Lamps and Strips. A total of 150 controlled devices, so some kind of Poweruser.
So the missing Features are prided in Priority for me:
1. Stability on the Cloud-Service with a Service Page to show Problems
2. Amazon Echo/Google Home support with
Control On/Off Switches
Dimming Lights
Dimming/Control Blinds
Control Scenes
3. MQTT Support
Publishing Sensors
Controlling Topic/Retained and QOS
Subscribing to control Devices via MQTT
4. Changelog of added Devices, Features and Bugfixes
i sometimes found that bugs are fixed and devices are added without Log, so its a kind of trial an error, to see if
Problems with Devices are fixed or descriptors have changed
5. Backup/Restore with all Devices so that a Recovery is possible without learning 150 devices again
6. Enable Chromecast Control (Play URL/Start/Stop)
7. Add Support for Logitech Harmony (Switch Scene, Send Device Commands)
8. Firmware-Update of Z-Wave Devices / Apply new Descriptors without remove/reinclude
9. Graphical Display of Z-Wave MAP to control Mesh-Network
10. Adding Scripting to Rules to provide more flexibility on Rules
11. Import/Export of Rules to provide a Library of Rules often used
12. Template Rules so Rules used in each room could changed/added without doing it at every rule separately
13. Ability to Output sounds/tts on Zipatile with rules
i know a long List but hope it helps to make Zipatile/Box better

a very good list. I would put harmony a little higher, and add volume control for chromecast audio and video.
1,3,4,8 and very good ideas that NEED to be completed by Zipato. Though 8 can be done if you contact support.
2. echo..............still waiting on an update from Zipato on this.
3 is also currently being done as is 5.
9 can be achieved by purchasing the Z-wave alliance toolkit network analyser. And I think in time this could be implemented directly onto the zipato controller.
11. can you do this via the api page? copy your rules into a speadsheet this way.
12. you can select an existing rule, change one thing in it and save it again as a whole new rule.
13, also being implemented as we speak, check this out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIHbkKEa0Sg
So as you can see, the zipato boys and girls are doing there best on keeping us up to date. I am sure there are other things to add also. But a good start is this list, thanks Robert.

5: restore to any zipabox or zipatile. Worst case scenerio for each of us is if our main box is crashing and it would take days to bring the house back to life!
11. and 12. Export/Import rules (or schemas of a rule without devices and sensors) would be great as there must be millions of cool rules
6. Chromecast as a device would be nice
New: Battery level of devices in rule creator would be nice.
All other things would be nice to have but not top priority for me.
