Zipabox Duo with 433 (sensors stay in wrong state if connection is interrupted)

I noticed this issue when installing a door / window magnet sensor (ZD2102EU). I tested the sensor and it is working like a charm with clear visibility to the zipabox (ZBZWEU433GV1) however when I was installing it 7 meters away from the box (some walls in between) it did see the open state correctly however it didn't do the close anymore.
After testing a while with a similar test sensor I noticed the same problem every time the sensor is near the limitations of the connection (which by the way is not too great at least with this particular sensor). Same goes for the Fibaro smoke sensor. Anyhow now the door is clearly closed but zipabox keeps insisting that the door is still open.
To use this system we need to be sure that the sensors give us correct information and this is not happening at the moment. Also the system should show the sensor to be offline if it can't read the current state of the sensor in question.
How can this be fixed?
