Zipamini - "Z-Wave module"
Dear Zipato
I have a brand new Zipamini controller which I have installed according to the manual. It is plugged into the wall and into the DSL modem. The blue light (not green as in the documentation) is steady. The very first device I tried to include is a z-wave thermostat from Danfoss. Using the mobile app I try to select z-wave network and get this message: "Unavailable: You need Z-Wave module to add devices on this network." Using the PC I get the message "Step 2: Restarting Device. Network not available." How can I make this work? Can it be that the Zipamini Z-Wave controller can't control Z-Wave devices out-of-the-box?
I'm already unhappily surprised that the device allows a maximum of 5 devices before I have to buy a pro license for 100 Euros but I blame the distributor who sold the Zipamini without making this clear. If it also doesn't support Z-Wave out-of-the-box then I will send it straight back.

It does. No need for zwave module. Try to do firmware upgrade in the controller settings.

Hi Thanks for your quick reply but the problems remain. My Zipamini is running firmware version 0.9.999.6. Clicking on the green 'Firmware' link in the online control panel results in a brief pause but no update (in Firefox or Safari). When I click on 'official' and 'load' under the firmware menu in the controller settings menu I get the warning box 'Box firmware upgrade - There is no available services to upgrade'. It is impossible to choose Z-Wave in the 'add new device' menu and therefore impossible to connect any z-wave device to this controller.
There is almost no written information to help me with these issues and almost no clear online information that includes a direct explanation of the licensing. When I click on the 'Devices' link on the left hand side of the control panel it says 'Devices limit:unlimited' (not 'Devices limit:5 before 100 Euro upgrade) This doesn't help me if I can't connect to any of the z-wave devices I have.

I have the same issue updating my zipamini firmware, they promised a fix but nothing happened and they stopped responding. I think you're stuck and in my eyes they're not supporting zipamini anymore. You should try returning the product.
