Zipatile User Manual

Need Answer

Has anyone have access to a copy of Zipatile's user manual?

Could Zipato at least send a copy to those (like me) who have already put an order to buy this promising product?

Many thanks

Check out the Help application. It's not perfect yet but we are upgrading it online...

Thanks Sebastian.

where is this located ?

can i get a link to it - as it is not easy to read from the front side when you are looking at the back .

Dear Sebastian,

i want in fact to run the zipatile within my existing Zipato network, adding some devices to the Zipatile and some to the Zipabox. For this i understood that i need to setup a cluster - how can i do this , i understand that i need to upgrade to pro - how can i do so ?

It is not possible to use cluster yet. We are still testing it here and cleaning bugs. The plan is to publish it by the end of May, but I think this could happen even by the end of the next week (can't be sure yet).

Once it is ready, you will just need to create Cluster, add all your controllers inside (Zipabox and Zipatile), and login to cluster instead of each controller separately. Cluster will become your only controller then, and other controllers will act as satellites. But each controller will run cluster replica on its own, and only one of them will be the master (active one). Once you "kill" the master, another one will automatically become master.

Good Sebastian, no problem waiting till end of May.

Please keep me posted when it is ready.

Is cluster part of the pro upgrade ? i understood that this woudl be free of charges for "passionate" early adopters and contributers, please confirm.

I found nowhere a schema on how to remove the back from the zipatile ...

Dear Christian.

As I understood the Cluster with Zipatile does not work by now. You have to wait several weeks (months??).

Dear Christoph

let us see what Sebastian or the team will answer.

moving my 100+ devices from Zipabox to Zipatile is not a solution as many features are hard wired to my Zipabox.

Otherwise i shall have a new nice device to give me the time and weather situation....

Let us see

Cluster will become the only controller you have. Other controllers will become kind of satellites. All rules and devices from these controllers will be visible in Cluster controller, so you will continue managing them from there.

I know it is frustrating.

Sebastian wrote this in one of the Zipatile Threads one oder two days ago.

let us push him positively ... if we are zipabox users we cannot use the Zipatile without

I was angry as I heard that the Zipatile with ZigBee is coming around June.

I would have been more angry if I would have it now and can not use. I read about a "Workaround" with IP device but that can not be the answer at all. Who has the time to setup everything again and again.

I am totally sorry for you.

I got mine a couple of days ago and I love it already! :-) Works Perfect even if the setup wasnt as straight forward as I wuld have hoped. Wifi setup shuld be part of initial setup wizard. Not something you have to exit in to android settings to do first. It is a minor thing but something that breakes a smooth setup experience. Looking forward to an updated and more extensive manual in the future. Keep up the good work!

Am I correct to assume that "clustering" allows you to use this device along side your regular Zipato? I'm using the wired security module, so I would need to keep that, but I like the look of the Zipatile.

Are there any PoE solutions for the Zipatile? I would want to wall mount it, but there isn't a lot of information on power delivery.

You are able to use Zipatile as wall panel for Zipabox installation. Cluster is more complex integration where you can use both controllers as satellites of the virtual controller - Cluster.

As for the power supply, our power adapter is suitable for in-wall mounting since there is an in-wall mounting set comes with it. By using that set, you can attach power wires directly to the power adapter.

Do you have a picture of the in-wall mounting set? I'm pre-wiring my basement prior to drywall and was interested in pre-wiring for a zipatile.

Maby a good time for zipato to either post some explanation or a video about using zipabox and zipatile together.

What are the options and what pro and cons do they have.

Allso would be nice with a update when they are planed to be released.

I know I did not pre-order the zipatile only due to lack of information and doubts that getting it to work with existing zipabox might not be ready at launch.

I still have not bought one of the same reasons.

The most important thing should be to know if I can use Zipatile sensors as part of the Zipabox Z-wave network.

I have also seen that there is a dry-input on the ZIpatile, can I connect an output from my Wired Alarm system there and use it as an input to run scenes, arm Zipato security partitions, etc.?

Thanks a lot

Duccio

Yes, you can use dry input for connecting wired alarm system.

Just make sure that connected input is inside voltage range
