Zipatile "wave to unlock"tablet feature?

the wave to unlock feature that uses the proximity sensor on an android tablet is already an available app, thats been available in the android play store for sometime, can this feature be implemented to unlock the lockscreen? being the zipatile is just a souped up android tablet. ive read on a few other threads, this feature has been asked about or requested for.
heres a link to the app. it has a video showing how it works. i dont see this being an issue to implement using the proximity sensor thats already in the zipatile.

Just note for Zipatile users.
Zipatile has gesture controller which only working when screen is OFF. If you turn on the screen each time when you get closer, you will lose the convenience of using the gesture controller without turning the screen off first.
Furthermore, turning the screen on could be done by single tap with one finger.
