Zipato Alarm Event

Need Answer

Hi,

I get, maybe 3 times per week, the following Alarm events:

  1. Read very carefully, this is a very important alarm message.Your Zipato with serial number ZTXXXXXXXXXXXXXX reported:The controller is reachable againDetails:

    Message: controller online

    Partition: System

    Armed: HOME

    Tripped: false

    Cheers.

Im not sure what causes these alerts more than "not reachable". It might be a bug in the zipatile, it might be that the zipatile is just on the edge of the wifi, thus missing "a ping" or any other problem.

So two questions:

  • Do we know what causes these "not reachable" errors?
  • As every "alert event" is followed with a "controller is now reachable again" event, with less than one minute between. Is there any way of creating some kind of grace period (retry 3 times with 10 secs between?) before creating an alarm event?

Is there a way to switch this alarm off? Or at least to avoid being called by the alarm service by phone?

Jochen,

Yes there is, you can can actually do it two ways.

1. If I remember correctly this alarm was configured by default as "always armed", so, no matter what you do you always have this alarm active. If you want to turn it off just go to settings on "SYSTEM" alarm partition, unselect "always armed", save and sync. This way you will actually have to ARM the system if you would like to get the alerts from time to time.

2. You can configure which type of alert you want SMS, email, push and/or voice. Go to the settings of the SYSTEM alarm and go to the tab "reports" you can add or delete any user to any type of alerts. Remember that you need credits for SMS and voice reports.

Jens,

In theory that message is sent after your zipatile lost contact with zipato servers (internet down, etc.) and then is back online. Usually you get both messages (Offline and then back online). There could be several reasons for this problem, Zipato servers down, your internet service, your router, the zipatile itself is to far from the router, etc... I'm afraid there is no way to customize the time for offline or back online, right now is only wether you want the alert to be sent or not.
