Zipato serial adapter - Is it visible as a device ?

Hi,
I just got a serial adapter to integrate with a DSC alarm, and although I haven't had a chance to hook up the rs232 cable/communication, I did plug in the module I to my Zipabox.
My question is if it should be visible as a device or not ? Because I don't see any change in the device manager.

Real-time notifications may not work
Serial adapter will not be visible in the UI.
DSC Network should be visible in the UI, when you connect it to the box through serial or backup module and select DSC in "add new device wizard".
If you will have problems with DSC inclusion, contact Zipato support
