NFC Reader instead of RFID

Under Consideration

Hello Sebastian and Zipato Team

As I am looking for new addons to our showroom in Sao Paulo, I've thought a new idea for Zipato devices, maybe you should take a look at it and see if you can integrate with Zipabox...

How about replacing the RFID reader for entry (or keep it anyway it's done...) with a NFC reader, with that our customers would be able to turn on/off the alarm (or anything) with anything they wan't since there are NFC stickers in the market to be placed in cellphones, even in your clothes...

Google Mifare Passive NFC Stickers and take a look.

Keep up the good work :)

I like this, especially if it can be done more secure then i solved it with web request and Tasker for android today. I created a HTTP device, then in rule creator made two new rules that turnes on and off the alarm depending on the state of the http device.

Used the http device addresses in tasker and then trigger those tasks from Trigger app.

If I remember correct I also needed to do some change in the alarm area to allow it to arm and disarm to get it to work for the rule engine.

The nfc tag does not contain the actual address, only the tasker app does.

Http devices can be used for almost everything that can send http requests, We are currently developing a small-form system for voice control of Zipabox, basically it's the same system, the software recognizes the voice command then the software send out a single http request to Zipabox. Zipabox reads the value and then it executes the request according to the http device status.

For NFC It would be nice to have a Z-wave reader for tags and cards for the alarm (or anything) control right at the entry of the home, just like the RFID reader Zipato currently offers.

+1 this is a must as all new phones have NFC. We are trying to eradicate all other accessories so the phone does it all. No more keys or tags.
