Alexa isn't working

Solved

Alexa rules aren't being triggered. I notice the exact same problem occurred a month ago.

The same here, including the issue having happened a month ago too. The Zipato skill on Alexa is leading to the oauth site of zipato authentication, and there it gets a 502 Bad Gateway error message. The link looks like this:

https://auth.zipato.com/oauth/authorize?client_id=alexa-skill&response_type=code&state=<LONG_CODE>&scope=Control&redirect_uri=https%3A%2F%2Fpitangui.amazon.com%2Fapi%2Fskill%2Flink%<SHORT_CODE>;

Alexa support cannot really help. They just keep asking me to log in again, restart app, computer, zipato, everything... I am afraid the problem is on the Zipato authentication site.

An absolute certainty

I've been having the same problem for the past 12 hours.

photo

It seems to be fixed now

photo

You are correct. Devs found the problem and resolved it minutes ago.

photo

Confirmed, working now.

Hi, for me its still not working. Alexa pretends that it performed the action, but my Zipato v3 is not triggering any device :( anybody any hints? i tried restarts and also reenabling the skill, but no progress.

Yes, the same here for a couple of days now. I went through the troubleshooting process with Alexa yesterday, and they could not figure the problem. They said it will be investigated further and let me know. I also opened a new ticket a few hours ago here in Zipato helpdesk.

photo

Same here. Zipatile V1 with Software v3 Alexa doesn't work.

Hello,

We are also investigating this issue so please have some patience. Update will follow as soon as we have more information.

For 12 days i am lacking the programmed routines, is there any hope that Alexa is back on Zipato?

photo
2

Hello, any ideas when Alexa could be working? Thank you

+1 from me

I am really getting sad about how quickly we get any issues resolved :( I try to raise a ticket on amazon side, hoping that we get some response within reasonable days. I am an enthusiastic pioneer, but loosing my faith in Zipato wanting to develop further.

Hello,

we apologize for the issues, we will check it out and fix it accordingly.

Thank you for the reaction and hoping quick solution.

I don’t think that the issue is solved (although the topic is set to solved status) and I believe that a serious tech support cannot allow 3 weeks silence and not finding out what is the issue with Alexa. i give up

photo

My personal ticket on this same issue is "In Progress". But I truly agree this should have been resolved by now. My latest response 8 days ago from support is this to the "When?" question:

Hello Miklos,

I can't really tell, however I've passed the issue already to our developers.

Best regards,

Stefan

Stefan has also passed my ticket concerning MQTT on Zipatile 2 in V3 to the developers. This also was at least 6 weeks ago. So I am not really convinced that Zipato really has developers.

Hello,

we have checked and Alexa is working, at least on V2.

V3 is still in the phase of being fully supported?

Can I get the info do you have issues on V2 or V3? Please open a ticket for us to check each individually, if the issue is on V2.

photo
1

I am on v3, and Alexa worked without trouble till we reported this issue. My ticket number is 27884.

photo
2

I have the Zipatile 1 and since 10/19 on Version 3 and still have trouble with Alexa.

photo
2

im am on v3 for a year, all worked well until early march, since then seemingly Alexa accepts the instructions and then nothing happens with Zipato devices.

photo
1

Same here. It took me a while to replace the old v2 token for zipatile 1 by a new token for zipatile 2 with v3.

I managed yesterday and all real devices were found. As Zoltan wrote alexa accepts the comands but the devices do not react.

What happened here, because its broke again

photo
2

Since April 17, Alexa receives the commands but responds: "device isn´t respondind".

photo
2

not working at all since the ticket opened. at least on V3 for sure. This is a joke, that Zipato takes it seriously ☹

Alexa doesn't work

photo

Started working since this afternoon. My zipabox is from 2011, first model. This is the third time this happens since i bought it. All in the weekend. My guess is that is some kind Of maintenance.

photo
1

Hey,

Does it work for anyone? For me it is still dead, doing the same since beginning of March: Alexa behaves like command was accepted and executed, but nothing happens.

photo
2

Alexa still doesn't work for me since March.

photo
2

For me its working. I had 3 weekends this year that it stopped but on monday they resolved the Issue. I have zipabox V1

photo
1

I also have a Zipabox V1 2011 or 2012, It still works well locally and via Imperihome but with Alexa it is not

Alexa confirms the order ( YES) but nothing happens . It started 48h ago.

photo
1

Same here. By the way does imperia let you log in. It doesnt let me log in since one year ago

Fresh and crispy:

apologies for the delayed feedback, however I've got good news regarding Alexa. We're finishing the implementation which is in the final testing phase. Please be somewhat more patient, a solution is right around the corner.

photo
2

Hello,

I just wanted to ask in a friendly manner how the processing is going. Alexa still doesn't want to.

photo
2

I got this 10 days ago as a reply from Zipato to my personal ticket:

Hello Miklos,

the changes have to be approved - please be somewhat more patient as it is in its final testing phase.

Best regards,

Stefan

same here :(

same here

no response in tickets since yesterday :-(

Here we go again. The third (?) outage of the Alexa connection in less than six weeks. What is the problem?

photo
1

The issue should be resolved now.

photo
photo
2

Still not working. Reported 3 days ago. 🙄

photo

Hello,

we are investigating the reason of Alexa skill V2 not working. We will resolved the issue as soon as possible.

Best regards

same here in Portugal

Hello,

the issue should be resolved now.

Again not working. Alexa says device isn´t responding.

photo
1

Same for me (again)

photo
photo
1

Yup, same again for me too.

photo
1

here again too.... -.-

photo
1

Come on, what is the matter? Why so many outages in such a short time? Please fix and make sure this does not happen again.

photo
1

Enough zipato!! Really bad alexa Service!

photo
1

Unbelievable. Draw your own conclusions

photo
1

Hello everyone,

we are sorry for the issues.

We are now doing maintenance on Alexa skill V2, hopefully after that there will be no more issues.

photo
2

Here we go again. Alexa saying "device isn't responding''

photo
1

Lol. Yeah same here. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again.

Lose track of how many times this issue comes up. Nothing will be done until Monday, and Zipato just don’t care….. says to me a lot about the company.

Hi Guys, leaving sadly this thread and the whole zipato system back. I switched to Fibaro Home Center and need to say after 1 month of use - incomparably easier to set up and stable to use. Alexa without any issue. I was loyal for 2 years, but my patience was over.

photo
1

Here also... :-(

photo
1

same for me

photo
photo
1

Yep, this is getting worse and worse.

photo
1

After I remove the skill and the new that requires authorizations, Alexa is working again.

photo
1

why does it take so long?

photo
1

Because Zipato is closed at the weekend, and a crippling issue like Alexa integration breaking monthly doesn’t seem to bother them enough.

photo
1

Definitely NOT fixed

photo
1

Same here, not working for me either since Friday !

photo
1

Hello,

it should have been resolved on Saturday,

we did some changes today and now it should work for everyone.

BR

photo
1

Now it's working.

Saturday "fix" did nothing.

What was the root cause and what will be done in order to prevent it from happening again?

photo
1

I've been asking that question for months. Doesn't look good.

photo
photo
1

OK, now it's fixed
