NEEO Remote and Brain addition to Zipato

The Neeo remote and Brain are fantastic, https://neeo.com/ . We have just been trailing them, and although they are slightly more expensive than other remotes (Harmony), they are built well, have a great support team behind them, and look and feel amazing.

For an integrator, we are constantly asked for a decent hand held remote for AV control, with Zipato and Z-wave Hubs we have nothing. We have looked into adding RTI/URC/Control4 support (ps if you want Control4 added to your Zipato system you can now do this with a driver by Applantis) but it costs alot more than a Neeo Remote.

We have also been trialing the Homey Hub over the last few weeks, and they have the Neeo remote supported. To tell you it is a wonderful combination is an understatement. And you can add numerous Neeo remotes to a Homey system. And with their plugin, you can add all sorts of device support to the Neeo remote for direct control.

Neeo have an SDK https://planet.neeo.com/t/18lvvs/introducing-the-neeo-sdk available, something Zipato does not, so hopefully we can get some votes here and get these supported by Zipato in the near future.

Hi Adrian. The Zipato Control4 integration looks really promising. Do you have any info on this? I could not find much.

Basically it allows the Control4 system to control the zipabox over LAN. And you can add multiple Zipato controllers to a Control4 system. And you can use Control4 scenes within Zipato.

This is what I have been told. Not sure the exact extent of devices that are imported into the control4 system, but all the basic ones like lights and shutter will work.

Driver is 75euro and can be added to a system and removed and used in another if needed.

I'm in love with this NEEO remote, if anyone wants a good Universal remote that is not a Harmony, this is it. And they have a sdk so you may start to add your own devices to it also. Having the ability to control Automation functions (eg lighting) via the remote is a great tool.

Unfortunately the Zipato controllers dont integrate at all, even the Neeo Brain (Hub) as a secondary Z-wave controller does not work with Zipato. It does with some other Hubs though. But then the Harmony doesn't either, and the Neeo is a fraction of the cost of setting up Control4/RTI/URC Hub + Remote just for some cool AV control. Neeo support is fast to add IR codes for you also, highly recommended.
