Are you adding the authentication? For example, HIKVISION ip cameras with the 5.1 firmware version have the following rtsp link:

rtsp://username:password@ip.adress:554/mpeg4/ch01/main/av_stream

For the axis have you tried: rtsp://username:password@ip.adress:554/axis-media/media.amp

No, i thought it was taken from the user/pwd fields and the 554 is the std port for RTSP. But i will give it a try. Thanks!

And btw you don't need to forward 554.

Ok, so i tried to add the stream for my axis about and did not forward any ports (Except port 80). But its not working.

The stream works in local network by using VLC used fine.

What are the pre. req to make it work?

Well Kristian, I had the same problem with HIKVISION. I updated the firmware and made some adjustments.

Can you connect to the stream from outside the local network via VLC?

Thanks! It seems to work now but it's not perfect. The app shows the stream but not always. I think its a bug in the app since if I try it with vlc, it works every time. Agree?

@Kristian Hi, i have also a Axis camera.

What is the RTSP url that i need to use?

Is it necessary to configure port forwarding?
