IP camera on connected LAN

Need Answer

Hi,

Is the following a viable setup for Zipabox 2?

- Zipabox is managed / connected to the Internet via Wifi

- IP cameras are connected to Zipabox via an Ethernet switch (DHCP is not available)

- The cameras as well as Zipabox have static IP on their Ethernet interface (certainly the same subnet)

Can Zipabox work this way? I have not bought the cameras yet but when I configured a static IP on Zipabox I did not see any traffic on a connected TCP socket (tested with a laptop, tried to add it as a camera to Zipabox).

Thanks!

Viktor

Hello,

the setup would indeed work like that (you can add the camera with its static IP and you need to input all other configuration parameters).

But regarding the "static IP" configuration on Zipabox2, at the momment the Zipabo can not request a static IP via WiFi.

Best regards

Hi Mario,

Thanks for your response!

Let me rephrase, I meant that Zipabox gets one IP assigned by the Wifi router via DHCP meanwhile I configure another static IP to it on the system settings which I hope gets assigned to the Ethernet interface.

Eventually Zipabox would be connected to 2 different subnets, one through Wifi/DHCP the other through Ethernet/static IP.

I hope that just works.

Thanks again!

Viktor
