Aeon Labs Key Fob 4 buttons

The Green LED on the key fob blinks fast, I see Device Found, but the join fails.

No, I'll try this tonight.

What do mean by "Please press reset device before joining" ?

Ok but for the moment couldn't have a Reset successful.

Did a factory reset on the fob (pressing learn for 20 secs) but could'nt have a successfull reset via the box.

ok now reset works but the rest doesn't...

Same thing with the one button version.

I have a 4 button aeon keyfob too. Very difficult to add it. Did manage to do it twice in a week ;-)

The first time the device was successfully joined but not with no configuration at all. Impossible to add rules.

Yesterday I joined the device and then finally the box recognized 4 buttons in scene mode. It's now possible to make rules (short and long press of each button) but it does not work and there is no event.

My advice to join the device:

Be very close to the box

After resetting when you join wait for the green led to shut down before learning again

Try the whole procedure several times

Be familiar with the two modes in the manual

Hope that it will work one day... Including when the fob is more than one meter away of the box

@zipato team: did you set the 250 paramater to 1?

Seems to be needed by the device in order to be controlled in scene mode

What happened is that the device did reset by itself ;-)

When i was trying to reset my fibaro device I saw that *without doing anything* the zipabox was saying the the device was reset sucessfully. I finally took off the battery from the keyfob and it never happened again (and I successfully joined another fibaro after that)

My keyfob is currently correctly added with scene mode correctly configured but I can't make it work.No event is visible.No rule is working.

The Aeon Labs Panic Button DSA38 does exactly the same thing, i've succed adding it to the zipabox, the device is known as "AEON_Labs: 1" but it doesn't appears on any widgets nor in the events. It does appear in the "Rule Creator" as a Control... but does nothing...

Any solution for this working ?

very disturbing...

I've sent back my zipabox and asked for a refund, can't build my house security on a device that is not fully ready yet (3 of my z-wave devices are not recognized).

reset OK but impossible to join. The joining process simply does not start (and ends with timeout).

Will try with a fresh new battery in a few days.

The same for me, counter starts, and successfully joined a new fibaro module yesterday

for keyfob

with 0.9.94 it was saying the device to be found (green led blinking during several seconds)

but with 0.9.95 it is not found at all, and the learning process on the device seems to be aborted by the device itself (green led blinking less than a second)

The remote is a Aonlabs DSA03202W-ZWEU, the rectangular white one with 4 buttons hidden behind a slider.

i have a zipabox with tne firmware 0.9.961 and a aeon labs key fob DSA22-ZWEU and it's impossible for me to join the key fob with the box.

Step 1, 2, 3 work, but step 4 does not end correctly.

I have change the battery and i work near the zipabox (under 30 cm)

I work on Mac OSX with google chrome and Safari.

It works for me with description Aeon Labs Key Fob v2.

After several tries keyfob is joined and visible.Could you tell us what is your magic fix without any software update ?

Another challenge for me now : make it works for scenes

my process :

- add device, type : zwave.memkeyfob

- device found

I don't see anywhere the device in the dashboard.

In the rules creator, it's possible to create a rule with the keyfob, but nothing runs.

the list of events is hopelessly empty.

Why are you using the device "zwave.me keyfob" and not the normal "generic zwave" device ?

I waited 2 months but today I retried to join and use my keyfob and everything went well. Using scene mode, which is to be configured in rules.

I am unable to add my keyfob to my network. Steps 1, 2 and 3 work fine. Step 3 even works when I am like 10 meters away from the box. But step 4 does not work. I have tried it thousand times with no success. This issue has ages for what I see from this topic. Can anybody help me with this please?

Hi Milan, thank you for your help but I still haven't managed it yet.

I just bought the keyfob, so the batteries are mint condition and the keyfob is no more than 5 cm away from the zipabox while I try to add it, remove it or reset it. So these are not the issues... I even lay it on top of the box during the process.

I also contacted Aeon Labs who were prompt to answer me with more detailed instructions than those of the manual. Still, I am unable to add the keyfob to my zipabox.

I've came up with the following though:

1 - To reset the keyfob, you have to hold "Mode" for like 13 seconds. It starts to go green-red-green, then faster, then blocks on green for 2 secs, then you let go, and it stays green for like 1 second more. Supposedly it's reset after this. Then you just press "Learn" to make it communicate with the box while in "add/remove/reset".

2 - If I go to Zipato Dashboard, click "Remove Device", then press once "Learn" on the keyfob, it blinks green twice, then blinks green rappidly and the Device Wizard instantly picks it up and states "Device Removed Successfully".

3 - If I go to Zipato Dashboard, click "Add Device", select "Generic Zwave" and "Reset", then press once "Learn" on the keyfob, it blinks green once or twice, then blinks green rappidly and the device wizard states Device Found, Device reset successful.

Peach Perfect both, within instants of pressing buttons. So no problems communicating whatsoever. This even works like 10 meters away.

3 - But when I try to add it... Same procedure, "Add Device" "Generic ZWave", Press "Learn" on the fob, it blinks green once or twice, and then just stops blinking. On the dashboard, count down goes on and in the end it says "Join not successful".

I reset again, I try it without removing.. try it without reseting from the dashboard.. try it reseting it twice..

Nothing... Any ideas? Maybe I have to reset the zipa box and start it all from scratch? Can this be? And if so, how can I do that?

Finally I got it to join my network. I think someone from Zipato helped from the inside :) thanks

But then I thought everything would be pretty straight forward after that. I was wrong and, sadly, it is not.

Went to the rules creator and created a simple rule just to test it:

WHEN "Sensor Keyfob Button 1 Click"

RUN "All On" Scene

Nothing, no lights on and no events registered...

Any ideas?

In the future I will want this Keyfob to do one basic thing:

When I get home, I press one button, two gates open and, if light below x lumen, one light turns on and then off again after 20 seconds without movement being registered.

But first things first: press a button, light a lamp. Can anyone help please?

6 months later to this topic, I face the same problems even if I applyed the procedure described by Milan.

Most of the time, counter goes down without any device finding. Some of time, devide is found but join is not successfull...

My device is a zwaveme KFOB 2.

I am new to Zipabox and I am trying to use a new AEON Labs GEN5 Zwave+ 4 buttons keyfob. I successfully join the keyfob, I can see it at https://my.zipato.com:443/zipato-web/v2/devices

I can use it in puzzle rules but when I press a key, no event is visible and no rule is working.

Could you, please, give me some advices.
