Backup and Restore Function
Under Consideration
Hi, will be useful create a backup and restore function on Zipabox. To be sure that if something goes wrong i can restore it from the last working time.
No connection
Real-time notifications may not work
very soon, even complete Z-wave network will be available to backup

this is a crucial features, in case of breakdown, we must be able to exchange the box, restore all the settings without associating all the module again.

Definitely, backup of all configuration including puzzles. Would hate to have to redo all the puzzles that have been implemented.

Think this i a very important issue, if something happens to the box and i would be forced to redo everything i probably would choose something else than Zipato? I thought it was safe/stored in the cloud...?

Not sure if I get it right... I was assuming that backup-restore was a basic function, if I read this correctly you could spend hours to setup the system, and then there's no way to 'save' the work somehow? What does it happen now if (just an example) the Zipato box fails, and you need to buy a new one... is the configuration restored from the cloud, or you have to start all over from scratch?

Any news about this important feature?

Well, surely this should be one of the highest priorities beside Cluster. But 3yrs ago soon is indeed long gone.

Guys,
my Zipatile has broken after 8 months. Screen flickers. It is a base controller for RGBWs, lights in garden (no phisical switches), and numerous scenes. If I can't backup rules and settings this is a total disaster to re-add all these devices (especially hidden behind panels and sockets!)
3 years ago i see it was soon to be added. What about verge of 2016 and 2017?!

i also heard recently (4 weeks back) that it was nearly done...

Do you know if you have a chance to backup via cluster somehow? Theoretically you combine 2 units and share rules and settings?

Well, accordingly to the changelog for 1.1.34 this feature is somehow supported but god knows what is the complete story. I can imagine that older generation zipabox with not zwave plus hardware is possible (see first underline), but then don't know what is the story with the second underline.
I also have a customer that I supposed to send zipatile back for repair (internal siren membrane broken...) and currently I have long term borrowed my siren so that I don't need to send back the zipatile until the backup feature is possible for zipatile.
So lets hope Zipato team will add some comment to this topic.

I have already asked Zipato about that, let's see what is their answer. I think I will ask them to extend my warranty period (actually send of my zipato) until backup is possible.
Dear Zipato. These are not toys but everyday devices we use. Since it is a tool it need backup feature. For me it is apart from zwave a ipcam, sonos controler for 5 speakers, intercom for Mobotix T25, etc.
