Tony shared this idea 10 years ago
Under Consideration

I should be usefull to be able to receive an alert when the battery level is to low.

Minimum possibily should be to use battery informations in rules

Additionnaly to my request minimum possibily shoud be to use online / offline status for rules & alerts.

why this request ? for the example below :

I am using a temp meter for climat module.

If meter go offline at night with last temp 17 degrees. During the day if i request 20 degrees, the heating will never stop. Ând if i am not at home, it can continue as soon i go home.

Yes it is a good idea.

Actually you had this idea because when you use this device in a thermostat you do not want to have heating system working for nothing.

So it open a question: how the thermostat behave in this case? Does it stop to heat?

Thank you for a response from zipato ;).

But anyway the alert can be usefull, also for a door sensor using in an alarm.

Same for a fire sensor or a flood sensor. You may think that your are protected but finally no because module is offline.

yep, you're right

I think you can make this with rules....

You can check all batteries level once a week and send a message if there's one with low level...

I'm also looking for battery alerts. Or an e-mail alerting me about devices with low battery would be great.

Yesterday my fibaro multi sensor is died and in zipabox is still alive... this is a bad, bad, bad situation for security alarms. Without battery check or alarm I can't make a routine to check devices on rules…

All fibaro devices has battery alarm why zipabox doesn’t receive these?

Zipato staff please give us a response about this issue

Yesterday my fibaro motion sensor just stopped working too. There was no warning of a low battery or anything. It just stopped working. As EddyZWave mentioned. These sensors DO ACTUALLY have a battery warning message that they send.

In my system, I replaced the battery and it works again but I totally agree with EddyZWave. My Zipabox is also my alarm system and the lack of a warning about a battery is fatal to the design of a security system.

I believe that battery life and battery warnings are so important that they should be logged as a special Event view at least. Basically a battery warning message should be like a "system alert" that keeps nagging you until you have changed the battery.

Some ideas for Zipato:

a) Zipabox itself should continuously flash an LED so we can see that there is system trouble even without logging in.

b) Zipabox has a new configuration of "Notifications" that can be output to either email/SMS or Voice

c) Zipabox has a new System Alert panel that holds events such as battery level less than 25%, cannot communicate with device xxx etc.

d) Zipabox has the facility to pick out battery alerts in the rules section so we can write our own rules about battery warnings and system events

e) everything above

Tony has posted this problem one year ago....

Why an important feature like this was ignored????

P.S. for Zipato: It's not enough to set this post to "Under Consideration" if nothing happens after one year

@EddyZWave - I think "Under Consideration" is just a default category that appears to be set automatically when the post is created. Unfortunately it does not actually mean Zipato are considering it (they may not even know about a new post!)

Have you right @Markus, I've tested this on a my recent post...

An it wold be nice to be noticed that the BOX is off line...

why there is no answer ????

I think it is even worst for the siren. I do not see any place where we can check the battery level. Am I wrong ?
