Between times in scheduler

Need Answer

How do i set 1 rule to work with in between times?

e.g id like the living room window lamp to be turned on between 7PM and 11PM.

I know how to make it in 2 rules (ON and the OFF), but with 1 rule?

Thanks!

Do you want it on at 7 and turn off at 11?

Yes

when scheduler

light on

wait 14400

light off

The variant with 2 rules is better because it will turn the light off if the box reboots between 7 and 11.

Try following as presented in attached picture.

Rule description:

When motion sensor ANY ( any change- motion, no motion occures: the box will check for conditions in IF loop)

If Now is between desired time limits

Execute command.

Please see attached picture for reference.

did you check with some other sensor, just to be sure where is the problem?

I used the wall plug sensor, or is it a bug that the wall plug is shown as sensor. It's not a sensor, right? I'll switch to the door sensor or a "dummy" virtual sensor

Why isn't it possible to use an IF-clause inside the scheduler? The following rule only turns off the light, never on. What is wrong?

i don't understand what u are trying to do.

But work from the light like this

When Light x = Any and scheduler

etc

I don't understand what you're trying to explain. I try to make a simple scheduled light switch. Light switch is enabled at certain times, that's why I put the scheduler at top. From there it should be pretty obvious that the lights should be on at the "between time setpoint".

Any better instruction on doing this right?

So you want the check if a light is on between 17:15 and 23:45 ?

and then switch it off?

No, far simpler - turn on at 17:15, off at 23:45.

I now created two separate rules, and this works. However, the timing is really bad. I set it to switch off at 23:15 (for test purposes), it switched off exactly two hours later. Time zone is set correctly. Very odd.
