blinking green and not repsonding to any interaction

Nicklas Simberg shared this problem 9 years ago
In Progress

First of aim posting this to get a understanding if its only me or if other people experience the same.

Every day several of time, the box start blinking green and is not responding to commands from zipabox app, web portal or other linked software.

It goes back to normal after random amount of time or until i reboot it via pulling the plug.

(i prefer not to reboot it since it screws up all variables, but that is another discussion)

This courses of-course that commands that should be executed during the time is not done, nigher ones from request from other devices or rule related ones.

I can never trust the box for anything and on daily base i find switches that are in the wrong state

i have 100/100 mbit fiber at home and all other devices, router and server is never complaining of lack lost communication.

I have had a ticket with support now since 21 oktober and latest i did hear was that they analyzed my logs since something is strange with the connectivity. But as you can understand aim tired of this living with the problem.

Do not want to create a complaints discussion but don't know where ells to get information since support communication is at its best limited.

Is anyone have similar problems or is it just that i got a crappy box that does not coop well with latest firmware?

If you have any ides what could cause the box to overload and suddenly be to busy for using the Ethernet connection please come forward with suggestions.

Thanks

Nicklas

I have the same problem, after a software upgrade the box is blinking green and I can't get any response from it.

I have a application that is reading locally from the box and I can see in my log file that I get "read time out".

When unplug the box it goes to normally and run about 8 hours and after that it will go offline/blinking green again.

Now it happend again the box is offline. Can't read loacally from the REST-API. But I can ping it.

My thoughts is that something in the box is crashing, out of resources, memory etc. I have an Java application that is sending request every 10 sec to get information from the box (locally via REST-API), I don't know if that is the problem. I will do some test and disable it in my app. My solution for the moment is to restart the box 2 times a day, using a DLINK Smart plug.

I have a same pb. support respond by upgrading box with beta-firmware.

Which version of upgrade? I have tested to downgrade, upgrade and running on the released version.

Please fix this pb quickly with an upgrade. Home automation is not a game for people, on my box i've heating, security and i want use to close my shutters. There is no tester for your beta programm ?

Now here also. Few days ago, when i first time see, that green was blinking, it was still up and running. Now it is not able to communicate with control devices or dashboard.

I also have the same problem, which is quite anoying. The worst is that when I connect through the web it still says the Zipabox is online whereas I'm unable to communicate with it and from my phone it does not give the Zipabox status, but refuses to switch on anything.

I've had this problem since the very beginning (about 2 weeks ago).

To fix the problem I simply disconnect the Zipabox for the power supply, but that means I have to be on the premises which kinda defeats the purpose of home automation...

I have the same problem. but my biggest problem is that when I do as you I reboot the box so becomes http sensors in the wrong position but not in the GUI are they wrong. I also can not sync the new GUI always time out.

My box is more stable now, when my application doesn't sends as many request towards the locally REST-API. My thought it's that something is consuming resources on the locally API.

Zipato team: if you reading this, one good idea could be that it will possible to fecth/read the log files from the box. Then it's possible for us more advanced user to help you with the troubleshooting.

In fact I noticed that my box does it after I lost my Internet connection (which happens a lot these days...). Would it help if I set a fix IP address instead of leaving it on DHCP?
