Bug: A bulb changes its state without any request to do so

Known

Here is a very common and simple situation.

I have 3 bulbs controlled by 3 Everspring AN157. I used a Fibaro Door/Window Sensor FGK - 101-107 v2.1 connected to a wall switch in order to command all 3 bulbs together and I use the dashboard if I want to change the state of one single bulb.

It used to work in the past but I experience problems with the latest firmwares (it seems related to a change done recently in the firmware higher 0.9.994 or higher).

I have attached an example with some pictures.

In the step 1, I switch all the lights on using the wall switch (I have tested using associations or by defining rules and I have the same behavior)

In the step 2, I used the dashboard to switch off one single bulb ("Centrale Terrasse")

In the step 3, this bulb is automatically switched back on without any request from me. It seems to occur always 5mn later.

It is something new and it is very annoying. I bought mainly this box to be able command separately some bulbs witch were wired together.

Anyone else has experienced some recent troubleshooting with unsolicited changes of state on their lights?

Hi Cedric,

Are you sure that the bulb/everspring is not used in some other rule? Turn off all your rules to see if it happens again.

I also don't understand why you are using the door/sensor to turn on all the lights. In the rule creator you can make a rule that turns on all 3 lights. Or do you wanna use a wall switch for this? (why not use the Fibaro relay switch).

Thanks for your reply. It was the simplest way to dissociate and to control independently 3 lights wired together. I have removed the original wall switch in order to have always power arriving on the bulbs and to control them always by the everspring AN157 devices. And finally I have transformed the original switch to a simple contactor using a fibaro door sensor by connecting the IN and GND wires to the device. A Fibaro relay switch should work also if it never turns off the power because the lights are in fact not controlled directly by the switch but by the everspring devices.

The advantage of using a fibaro door sensor is that can install everywhere. The drawback is that I need to change time to time the battery...

Concerning my problem, the everspring are not used in other rules. I just have defined scenes with them by they are not used in rules for the time being.

And as I said, it was working well during more than 6 months... The only changes that I have done are the firmware upgrades of the zipabox and I have changed the battery one month ago.

Where are we with this issue?

To the zipato team:

- Are you able to reproduce it on your premises?

- Do you plan to solve it in the next release?

- There is a way to downgrade my box until to get this bug fixed?

Kind regards,

Cédric

Cédric,

Contact support about this. They will not answer this threat.

Or is it solved already?

Not yet solved, even with the implementation of the new firmware. I will open a ticket for that...
