Calculating energy use

Hi!
I am considering the thermoreg floor regulators for floor heating. These do not support energy calculation (they do not send aggregated values of this).
Can this calculation be made in the zipatile? I know the exact power load from each heating cable.
Would like to make a function running each second or minute and only incrementing a value as long as it is on.

I was actually trying to do this but did not get the loop to run. Do you have any program examples showing something similar?
