Cannot join distant zwave objects

Solved

Hi,

I received and installed my Zipabox yesterday.

I have difficulties to join my zwave objects :

In the same room it works. 7 meters away it works (sort-of) if no wall.

On wall away (roof), it does not work. Unable to join a deveice (tested on several different devices, mainly with a Everspring AN158).

The antenna is on the zipabox, I removed and insert it again, it did not help.

My zipabox is upgraded (0.9.94).

I also had some difficulties with the unresponsive web site and I noticed that the green light of my zipabox is sometimes off.. ? Last the https web site is not working well (at least worse that the http one)

:-( Not very convinced by the zipabox currently :-(

Regards

I had same issue. But happened with other systems also. You need to be close to zipato in order to add. Thats all.

Q1. If I have a battery operated device I can add it close to the box and once addded I can move it further away without any problem?

Q2. What if the device is mounted in a wall, do I need a z-wave stick or move the box temporary closer to the device (including internetconnection)?

I made additional testing, by joining the objects close to the zipabox and place them afterwards it's working better, but it has a lot of difficulties to connect to an object which is behind two big walls : I mean it receives data 5/6 times a day only (instead of every hour).

I noticed that the network needed some time to stabilized, some objects (eg SF814) start to provide their datas after one day at least (?!!). And since there is no graph for temparature for instance I do not know when was the last output of the object.

I'll keep my zipabox, to see how you'll make it grow. But I also order an eedomus, and I'll take the time to compare them before selling one.

Thanks for your support.
