Can't configure Wall Plug

HB shared this problem 11 years ago
Solved

I have got my wonderful litle Fibaro Wall Plug today :-)

Trying to include it!

(so simple with auto include)

But after incusion there is no Configuration for it, and no "reaply device desriptor" (see picture)

What is wrong?

There is so much good features in this litle Wall Plug!

Looks very very good!

I can turn it on/off but nothing else :-(

Have anyone tested it?

I believe I read that as soon zipato got hold of a plug they will check and make it available

Yes But I can't configure it manualy!

How do I set a parameter?

Think it is very strange that Zipato have to add "support" for each and every zwave device there is befor it is possible to use them... Isn't it 100 of them???

Way can I just include any device and then manualy read the documentation and set all parameters for the device?

With ZipaBox as it is now, I can't see any way to set parameters.

(I hope I am wrong)

Fibaro wall plug is a very new device. Even Domadoo.fr which is one of the Europe largest z-wave retailers doesn't have it yet. We like the device as well, and it will be supported with Zipabox as soon as we get it in our lab. Meanwhile, you can use the basic functions only.

Yes I know, But that was not an answer to my question.

Isn't it in the zwave standard ment that you can configure any device and just set the parameters for it, without the controller had to know anything more then the device tells it during the include?

I very new on zwave you are an expert, so you have to tell me how it works...

I'm sorry but I thinkt it is very strange i can't configure a device manualy in ZipaBox.

z-wave is good protocol but each manufacturer can have it's own interpretation of certain functionality. Also, configuration of the device itself can be done by sending scripts to the device through some text fiels which we don't see as very user friendly. This is why we are doing this for all of our customers. However we do considering an option within device manager to allow customers to configure devices by using integrated text editor.

We did manage to include and operate and read power consumption, excluding is not possible.

The WORST thing with Z-Wave (not ZipaBox) I think is these clicking for include/exclude...

Click 3 times (or five) or do that or something else :-/

and you most of the time have to try and try again, before it works, and some times it just do not work :-(

Why isn't there just a simple PUSH THE BUTTON and it is included/excluded!

and it just works...

Make it simple to include/exclude and then possible to lock it from the controller so you can't exclude by misstake)

Yes: I am just complaining, but I am so tired to try and try to include/exclude these zwave...

A NEW GOOD THING!

If you have tried the new Fibaro Wall Plug (lovely litle device) it has AUTO INCLUDE :-)

That is how it should be implemented:

- Start ADD Device on controller, then just plug the Wall Plug into the power and it is included! (what a lovely litle device)

(But it is NOT that simple to exclude it, then you as usual have to try and try and try...)

Okey now we just have to wait for it to be supported ;-)
