Compatibility with Aeon labs Minimote

Under Consideration

I like the design and size of the minimote (http://www.domadoo.fr/produit,1888,1,AEON-LABS--T%C3%A9l%C3%A9commande-Z-Wave.-Blanche.htm) but is it fully compatible with Zipabox?

Can you link minimote buttons to the scenarios you create on Zipabox?

Can you use Minimote to add Zwave modules to your network (instead of the Zipabox)?

Aeon Labs Minimote devices with certain software versions (1.11 and 1.08 for example) are not fully compliant with the Z-wave standard specification and are therefore not supported.

Hi

Are there any news regarding minimote? I've got plenty of them (used with Vera3) and really need to get this functionality work

Any update? Support for generic z-wave devices would be good as we could use them just without a pretty configuration page until support is added!

We don't support it, as it has some incompatibilities with the Zipabox

Could you support generic z-wave devices so we can use our hardware otherwise I'm going to end up with a lot of dimmers associated directly and not via the zipabox?

we do support generic z-wave devices. Minimote is the exception. Once you connect the generic z-wave device, it will work but it won't be described as the supported one (title, type...).

As for the bindings between devices, you can do it both ways, directly or through the zipabox.

When you say 'bind' do you actually mean 'associate' or is there a different method of linking z-wave devices together?

So are you saying I can add my Fibaro dimmer to both the Zipabox and a Aeon Labs Minimote even if the Minimote can't be added to the Zipabox or do I need to run the Zipabox as a secondary controller?

Thanks for the response.

It is not possible to add devices to the Zipabox by using the minimote as the secondary controller. We were discussing this with the Aeon labs but they don't have an explanation yet.

I actually meant using the Zipabox as a secondary controller so I can at least control my lights using the Minimote. I don't believe the FIbaro dimmer can be a member of two separate z-wave networks at the same time!

You said that Minimote with firmware 1.11 and 1.08 are not compatible with Zipabox but what's about last firmware v1.17 ?

is this one OK ? How can i make it working to launch scenes ?

Same here, would like to know if there is any way to make my Minimote firmware 1.7 function with zipabox to command scenes (I only care about the 4 buttons, not the associate and pals)

A recent upgrade of zipato made it possible to "add device" a minimote. Nevertheless the zipabox doesn't seem to receive any signals from the minimote.

It is really disappointing not having an answer for so long. At least give me an advice of which remote control/ panel I should buy to associate to my zipabox scenes.

Minimote for now works with with ALL ON and ALL OFF commands.

firmware 1.18.

If you really want a dedicated Z-wave remote then we suggest you get the Zwave.me 4 button keyfob. It's not expensive and it is is easy to use with the Zipabox.

The Minimote is not really a remote, it's a full fledged controller.

Thank you.

Does anybody wants to buy a Minimote :)

We're not saying that it is not useful or that it won't more useful in the near future. Hold on to it. It's a very versatile device. Currently, you can use it to turn on or off all the devices in your network.

You can also use it to include/exclude devices in your network which can be handy in certain situations.

10 months and new minimote firmware later (1.19). I can't use the ALL ON and ALL OFF commands which should work (according to Ivica Dimitrijev). How can I use this? Anything else?
