Creation of a virtual device for a switch (different behaviour old and new UI)

Solved

I want to create a virtual switch that command 3 switches together by association. Therefore, I have a created a new virtual module and selected its nature (switch). First remark, the list is not translated. And creation of virtual device unavailable on Android...

I have change its type to "Light" in the device manager. However, it remains an http device in "Lights and power" tab and it is impossible to configure it to "Light". It is impossible neither to make associations.

To do so, I had to switch to the old interface in order to have my devices listed correctly in the association configuration tab.

I understand but it doesn't work. I had no other choice than to use the old UI. I tried again this morning and you can maybe reproduce it yourself.

1) Create a virtual switch. It appears ok in the device manager with the right type (Light)

2) Go to light & power tab and you see the new virtual device as a HTTP one with no possibilty to change its type.

Go directly to the device manager, and then change a virtual device type. Afterwards refresh browser window. Then it should be correct.

Yes it has worked this time.

In fact maybe not. After the creation it is recognized as http one in the old interface. And if I got to set-up of the device in the light and power tab, the type available in the list is "HTTP device" and the list of possible bindings is not working for me.

Yes to all of that and I retried again:

1. Add New device

2. Virtual Switch

3. Name: Test2

4. Save

5. Close

6. Device Manager

7. Change type from HTTP to Light

8. Save

9. Synchronise

10. Refresh

The icon is a bulb but in the set-up it is set as Light but not in the list and it remains an HTTP device in the "OLD VERSION" of the UI.

Furthermore, it is impossible to have a workaround with Android because Virtual device is not available n the list of new devices.

Finally, I would be happy to just use only the new UI but some fundamental features are not well implemented in the new UI. For example, the possible to set-up association/bindings between devices is not available...

Pleas assist me in creating a "virtual" switch just to turn on some lights during a certain period of time. I have read various comments but still do not understand fully how to do it.

Perhaps a little extra explanation: virtual switches do nothing alone. They are just exist and you can ask in a rule how theire status is. I use virtual switches a lot. I.e. I have one which is set to on at sunrise and set to off at sunset. So I have a simple switch "daylight" which I can use in other rules and don't have to ask allways for time etc. Also steering of LED strips is easy. If you like to have a special setting you can create a rule like the one of Ivan.
