Dead Zipatile

Hi, did anybody face a sudden dead of Zipatile hardware? This is the third time in last month that it suddenly stop working, it's not reachable from the web and from the panel the six led are regularly on while the touch is completely black!


Only way to restart is to hold the on/off button once for more than 10s release and again hold for more than 10s. I restarts and stay regularly on for some time. Then it happens again suddenly after some time.


Of course it makes the console completely unusable, unaffordable and not suitable to rely on as your home domotic suite as it is supposed to be...


Please share if you faced a similar experience or do you think it is an hardware failure.

I think this could be related to Zipato server issues: see "Long delay in update of state"

I dont think this is due any network condition. I read from one of Cristopher Krieger posts in this comunity that his Zipatile could never charge while it was on, he had his replaced at the end. I would recommend you to open a ticket on zipato support, include your serial number and explain this issue to them. I cannot point to that post because it has been blocked from Zipato, look at this review on amazon and the following topic (read Christoph posts on this). I'm not saying you have the same case for sure, but you could have a bad Zipatile.

I have now a new account to post.

I guess your problem is a different one. Mine was related with charging and battery draining issue. However, contact support first and if it does not work contact your dealer for RMA or replacement.

But these days it seems that even a working hardware does not work due to software issues.

Thanks Christoph! I'd have already returned to the dealer if it was still on business! Unfortunately I bought it from an unaffordable web site that does not answer to any request. I guess it's closing his business activity or something like this... I hope the support can help managing directly. Of course it's still in warranty since less than 1y from the sales receipt issued data.
