Door sensor activated light + Motion Sensor

Hello,

may somebody here can help me out....i created rule below for activating entry light during specific time frame as well lux level.

This rule is working so far, but instead of switching OFF the light after specific time this should stay at ON status during the motion sensor in the same area recognize any movement.

After a delay time (cancel delay or extra 5-10 seconds via puzzle) as well no movement the light should go OFF.

I hope someone can create this rule, i didn't get it.

Thank You for your support

Hello Lars,

thank you for posting the link.

I tried attached rule without any success...something seems to be not correct. So the light should go ON when openening the door until there is movement. After waiting-puzzle the light should then go OFF when there is no movement at all.

Thanks.

Does anybody have an idea how to modify my attached rule to get it work like mentioned?

Thank you very much.

I will have a look and think about it, it will take some time! :-)

OK, thank you very much. If you need further information or background information please let me know.

I have created a similar rul but with my devices, could you try it, of course you have to change time to your country: in Sweden 12:00 to 13:00 or something like that!

Maybe someone see the error right away but for me it is trial and error.

But first of al change time to 16:45 and 17:00 not the other way around!

Does it work?

Hi, i will let you know...this may take same time. But the main propose it to use the door opening as trigger for switching the light ON and the motion sensor to keep the light ON until no movement is recognized for x-seconds then switch light to OFF.

The re-opening of the door should start the loop again.

Ok then put an and comand and to both if and when block!

When motion sensor or door sensor any stat

If time and light level

Or something like that.

Sorry didn't catch what do you mean. May you can modify your attached rule? I will then try if it is working. Thank you very much for your support.

Hello,

i tried...light will go ON when door opened but after ~10 sec regardless of any motion the light goes OFF. I will try to adjust the rule ....

Hi, attached rule is working exept you close the door after

opening...than the light will go OFF after ~10 sec regardless any

motion. hmm the problem i have now is to get the rule working even the

door is closed....light should stay ON if motion is recognized.

Modifaction

of second IF command for door sensor (eingangsbereich= OPEN) to ANY

status or with added additional OR command and =CLOSED does not work.

change them to "OR" my mistake

photo

by changing second IF command motion sensor and door sensor to OR the light goes ON immediatly by passing motion sensor wihout opening the door...this is not working :(

@Zipato

A good idea for future SW development/ updates would be a "TEST" function if rules are running like expected with some virtual test devices. This topic here would be much easier i guess :)

Dose the time and light intensity work?

So you want it only to work when the door have bin opened and not when it is closed?

Could you tell me the exact conditions you want it to work?

There are other people that is better then me on rules.

Hello,

Yes, so the rule should start only when the door gets opened + time between x-x as well luminance level <=x.

If the door gets closed the rule should not be affected at all, means only the motion recognized should extend the light to stay in ON status, if no motion is present the light should stay on for x-seconds then go OFF. A closed door shall not switch the light OFF after the set x-seconds delay.

A re-open of the door after closing should just "start" the rule again.

Try making 2 rules and skip the time and luminous valu, and just get the motion to work and the door sensor to work. The problem is that I can't figure out how to only make the door work. Because at the moment any change of state of the door sensor wil trigger the rule, witch will cause the light to turn off because the sensor change to closed.

i think someone art Zipato need to help you. But I will not give up. Should be simple:-)

Hi Dirk, I use attached rule to do something similar to what you want to do.

You can add additional time frame check in AND with LUX check.

Let me know if it works.

Hi Carlo,

i did an update of your rule with time-puzzle. As my quick-check tells me this is currently working fine :)

Thank you for your help. I will test further and will let you know any issues.
