Lightwave Gang Switches

Under Consideration

LW200 - LW220 - LW230 - LW240

Last week I struggled to link my new LightwaveRf gang switches with the ZipatoBox.

Here is the tutorial I followed for the install :

1) make sure the switches have been reset * follow procedure found with instructions *

if my memory serves me right : press both on / off until amber and blue led flash alternatively, maintain off button for some time until led flashes then press once the off button again to validate.

Apparently this switches can memorise only 5-6 ID.

2) in the drop down list when you want to add a device select "Lightwave LW270 wall socket"

3) activate pairing mode of the Switch (basically hold on/off on switch for some secs)

4) then press on continue.

the button should then be added automatically (nearly instantly)

For other model with multiple switches repeat the process.

Many thanks to Milan for its help.

Hi leodixi,

Thanks for letting us know about this as I've been trying to link my LightwaveRF dimmers for ages.

However, I tried your instructions and they didn't work for me on my LW230. Did you have to get Milan to give you a new firmware to get this to work?

Thanks,

Jon.

Hi Jon,

I think Milan might have updated the firmware while we were trying to debug the issue.

Are you able to pair one of the switch with the box ?

I think whatever model you have they are all the same as LW200 - 220-230 and 240 are I think the same LW200 unit behind so it should be working whatever model you have.

I have a LW 220 at home not yet wired to lighting circuit but I will have a try tomorrow or over the week end to see if there are any differences.

If you can't add the device following the procedure I think it might be worth letting the support team know by sending them an email with your credentials so they can do any reboot or firmware as the pairing on mine is flawless...

let me know how it goes.

That's good to know that it works for you flawlessly. That would be awesome! Thanks for confirming.

I can't add any of my dimmers using the instructions so have approached support as you suggested.

Good luck with the second switch. Do report back... ;-)

Just to follow up and pass on what I've found out...

Milan kindly updated my software but I couldn't get the switches to work for a while. Although it is a 3-gang switch I only have 2 circuits at the moment so 1 circuit was without power. I've read on the LightwaveRF community site that although the 3 switches are notionally separate, only 1 contains the radio so I wondered if I wasn't powering that one.

A quick re-wire to ensure the switch named (on the back) 'Master 1' was powered and I could join both of the powered switches in the unit, which is awesome.

leodixi, did you know that if you join the devices as 'Lightwave dimmable socket' instead then they work as true dimmers rather than on/off switches...?

Hello Jonathan,

Thanks for the info I will change the devices accordingly.

I was a bit curious about what you found out regarding the fact that only one switch had the radio module so I unscrewed one LW220 module and indeed there is cable connection linking the 2.

So for all these products we should probably make sure The relay 1 (master or slave) is wired... Honestly they could mention this info in their instructions...
