Message: "Allowed registration time elapsed".

Solved

I am unable to register the Zipato box serial number. When I click on the link in the registration confirmation email, and entering the serial number from the Zipato box, I get the message: "Allowed registration time elapsed" - even that I have entered all the information within half a minute!

I tried again by creating a new profile wit a different email address, but with the same result.

What to do?

Hi Kim,

Allowed registration time starts ticking away after Zipabox establishes connection with the cloud server after power up/reset.

So just reset your Zipabox, wait for the light to turn steady green, and the login into the cloud application and enter the serial number.

Hello,

The same message keeps popping up when I try to save the serial number. I did the reset steps like you suggested but nothing has changed. What should I do now ?

PS: How long does the registration time lasts once the zipabox is connected to the cloud server ?

Thank you for your help.

Thanks for your reply.

Hello, just restart the box and try to register it within a two minutes after steady green light shows up.

I waited 5 minutes, still got it.

When I reset or unplug and plug the box, the green light appears immediately. I just have to press reset for 1 second to reset, is that right?

Another question: my zipabox is plugged on a switch which is behind my ADSL rooter, maybe should I open some port to allow communication back to the box from the cloud?

Can you please send serial number of your box to support@zipato.com? We will check out, what is happening.

If I only get a yellow light when I plug the box, does that means I have to return my box for exchange to my local dealer (hardware malfunction) or is there a possible workaround apart reset button that doesn't worked either ?

It could be the hardware malfunction. You can try to:

1. hold button 2,

2. restart box (you can unplug/plug the power cord),

3. wait for 3 sec. and release button 2

I received my new box yesterday and it worked just fine: plug and play :) So I guess it was some kind of hardware problem. But anyway it got replaced easily.

BTW very nice product guys! The possibilities are amazing and fun to setup. Keep up the great stuff.

does your zipabox has a steady green light (means it is connected to the cloud)? If yes than you just need to restart the Zipabox and try register again after you get green steady light again (time for registration expired right now)....

For my personal case, it was a hardware malfunction (ie. Ethernet port was not working). I had to return my Zipabox and get a new one that works now.

Same problem here. I get the green light but the "Allowed registration time elapsed" error keeps coming. Been trying for a few days now, no response from zipato on my email is sent a few days ago.

My e-mail account do some really heavy spam checking, so I receive e-mail from dubious addresses about 12 minutes or more after they're sent. Happened this time as well. First time the startup went well. But after I had to restart it, the Zipabox displays a green and PINK led, no flashing - so nothing seems to be really happening... The restart button on the back does not make any difference either.

Why don't you print this in the error message. Would save a lot of people a lot of troubles.

What a start. Why is such a simple step so complicated?

Out of the box, pluged into my router, stable green after 30 seconds and than this massage: "Allowed registration time elapsed".

No reset, unplug, replug helps.
