Nightmare Danfoss living connect z

Need Answer

I just arranged my little home Zipabox network, with a few devices and after some practice, I’m ready to "include" and arrange some Danfoss valves in order to manage them in a rational and efficient way,… just as in advertising!!!.

Wanting avoid to waste a lot of time to do testing, trials, experiments and the risk of being in the cold, I decided to search tutorials, guides, and everything is needed to configure in the best way these valves. Unfortunately I am baffled to understand that compatibility with Zipabox does not make the use of this valve easy nor efficient,… is therefore a shame not to take advantage of the attractive features of these valves.

I read that is not possibile to remotely adjust the set point, or the batteries wear out in a few days instead of two years, I see the efforts of many willing to create rules to better manage these valves. In short, a real puzzle, but nothing concrete.

I do not know if I missed something, but I think it would be useful to a real step by step guide/tutorial that helps you get the most by the combination Danfoss - Zipabox,… otherwise it would be like having a Ferrari, but with pedals ....

This is intended as a constructive criticism, because I believe in Zipato,.... but here seems to be, from my point of view, a non robust point, ...so any help is appreciated, thanks a lot.

For the beginning, you should just try to add you danfoss valve in your thermostat. Also you should try to put the danfoss valve in the rule and check whether it is working.

As for the "great" device, it is not sending the temperature information to the Z-wave network, so you need to have some device which does measure the room temperature in order to create a virtual thermostat within a Zipato CLIMATE widget.

Also, there is help available within a CLIMATE widget which could help you.

If there will be some problems, just post...

The first valve seems to work, but some days are needed to understand if all is ok. In the meantime one problem I found out: how to link together two valves in the same room with the same virtual thermostat?,...I mean that I set up a temperature in the virtual thermostat (e.g. 22°C) and both valves have to be updated with the same setpoint 22°C. I made some rules to do this,...but without results. Thanks
