Possible to use Zipabox with a local router that has only static IP-adresses?
Need Answer
Is it possible to use Zipabox with static IP? My local network and router is using only static ip addresses.
If yes, how do I set the static IP of the Zipabox and how can I find out the MAC address of the Zipabox?
No connection
Real-time notifications may not work
Connect the zipabox to your router, then you'll find the mac address by using a dedicated software or maybe a scan too directly on your router configuration.
Anyway, when you got it, what you have to do is to add a static ip on your router for that dedicated mac address.
You don't have to do anything on zipabox side.

I then changed back to static ip and assigned the MAC address of my Zipabox the static address (for example 192.168.0.10) and rebooted my router.
All my other computers and devices that use static IP works fine but the Zipabox is not given (for example 192.168.0.10 address) an IP address and the Zipabox is showing the blue led and every 2nd minute it is blinking in white and after that it is alternating blinking purple on the LED and green on button 1 and then back to yellow to go blue again after a while. So it feels like the Zipabox is never assigned the static IP address I give to it in my router setup... :-(
As soon as I switch back to DHCP in my router it works fine. However, I do not want to use DHCP in my local network so I really need to know if Zipabox does work with static IP:s or only with DHCP?

Strange, I did the same thing and it worked for me.
So yes the zipabox works with static ip configuration.
I don't know what can be the cause of your problem sorry ;(Did you check the mac address you typed in? (I suppose you did)Are you sure that no other device already uses that ip? (I suppose you are)
