Reboot with rules the Zipabox

Here the same problem, today i had some problems whith my Zipatobox and after a reboot everithing working normali. thats why i want to do every night a reboot automatic.

It's a good idea. For a professional system is a MUST to have possibility to reboot by programming this event.

If you use your zipato with alarm module, during it's armed, you can see in the log a message like box unreachable. If you reboot the box all is coming normaly.

so, creating a rule is really a good idea, but I think it's better if this rule can be conditioned with some things like a timer like you want, or a ping in LAN network, or some others conditions.

Well, I guess it might be possible with qubino relay. There is a parameter for the relay to auto switch on if turned off. This way you set up a rule to run every day to turn off the switch (and thus the socket where the zipato is connected to) and the parameter setting will ensure to turn the socket back on.

It's a good idea, but I've got soon a similar solution with an IPX800 from GCE electronics.

But, a hard reset is very high risq for electronic components I would prefer something like a a software reboot. more beter : just a dump from the memory like FIFO or FILO how's full !

So, something less aggresiv :-)

oops, I've forgot to say to you that I didn'T know that module. Very interesting. And I have seen another module ZMNHUD1 very good for me.

I thought about a WEMO switch. If the box is unreachable you can remote switch the box off and on again

I have the backup module, so it's not possible to switch it off simply.

I saw, that the performance increases with the time. A reboot helps to decrease it again.

It would be very nice, to have a possibility for restarting the box automatically in the night with a rule.

Raise a ticket and ask for Zipato professional advice. Not sure why Im thinking that using the API it is possible to reboot the box.
