It means this device didn't respond to "keep alive" question less than twice. As this was maybe caused by "air traffic jam", it is too early to say it is "OFFLINE", so it is marked as "!" (caution). If it don't respond three times or more, it will become "OFFLINE", if it responds next time when Zipabox is asking him (or during it's "keep alive time frame") "!" will disappear.

Maybe not by Zipato certified/tested devices?

Can you be a little more specific about "offline"?

Is it something like a dead node?

All mains powered devices are being checked by Zipabox in certain time frame, to see whether they are still live (responding to communication requests). Battery powered devices are doing this by themselves (most of the time they are sleeping, which means they are saving energy by turning off Z-wave radio) in certain time frames.

Zipabox exactly knows what are those time frames (they can be changed withing configuration tab) and keeping log about their answers, so if it doesn't get the response after one "time frame", device (with all of it's endpoints) will be marked as "!", and after 3 x "time frame" it will be marked "offline".

Devices can be "offline" from many reasons (e.g. someone took them away, took a batteries out of them, they went broken...). But they can also be unavailable to respond once or twice just because of some "packet loss" problem or something similar. This is we are marking them "!", which means: they didn't respond but it is still too early to say they are OFFLINE (permanently unavailable for Zipabox).

And it is only "time-frame" dependend? Activating the device does not solve the problem?

Answer is yes and no.Some devices (e.g. motion detectors) are being set to just report the event and than go back to sleep immediately (saving energy). Again, some devices are also sending "ask me something if you want now" message and waiting for the question for a few seconds. This depends of the device and it's setting.

Red "! " is not a problem of distance between the module and the zipabox?

I have the same problem with the switch on/off Everspring AN158

Hi

I have excatly the same issue with my Danfoss Live connect. At the beginning I thought it was a distance issue but I am not sure it is the reason anymore.

I had my module in the OFFLINE status permanently! This is really a pain in a ass as I paid my Danfoss LC 140€ (2 units) and my Zipabox cost me 200€.

My pb is this OFFLINE status. What I DID: I removed the module and added successfully again. Unfortunatelaty, few seconds later I got the "!" which became OFFLINE afterwards. I also rebooted twice my box and moved it closer to my devices but no progression.

To Zipato support> What is your solution to have an ONLINE STATUS of my devices, please? You are the expert.

Thank you.

Hi - I do have the exact same issue with the Eversping AN158 Device. Did you figure it out? Thanks
