Adding myself to the question. I've got Zipabox w/o. 433Mhz module and I wonder the same! Don't want to buy the 433 addon module only to find out Rollertrol is unsupported...

Also, the roller shutter mechanism from rollertrol.com is pretty expensive to simply donate it for Zipato's lab. So, what do we do? Please advise!

Also wonder this because we have a dealer her in Sweden that sells "Rollertrol" like motors that is claiming they are from the same factory and therefor it is realy interesting to know if Zipabox can handle "Rollertrol".

If someone have got Rollertrol to work with Zipabox pleas tell us! And of corse if Zipato know they work pleas tell us.

Best regards!

we have never tested it in our lab, so there is no official support.

As far as I'm able to google: these RF motors are SAFY Technology Co (http://www.remastersys.com/manufacturers/shenzhen_safy_technology_co_ltd-hz18f0ab.html), operating on 433.92MHz. They're OEM branded as RollerTrol (http://rollertrol.com/store/en/74-all-radio-motors) in America and Hasta (http://www.frapp.se/sv/gardiner-Hasta/motor.php) in Europe. The remote control unit is very recognizable.

Sebastian, please take a look, maybe you already have it in your lab OEM branded with some other name?

Also, RFXCOM utility has their protocol named BlindsT0, maybe just debug it: (http://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=779)

Very informative post. Hope they can do something.

The motor I found is this: http://m.blocket.se/skaraborg/Rullgardinsmotor__rollertrol__passar_tupplur_57199267.htm

Any chance you can recognize what it is? He how selling it say it works with: Tellstick, rfxcom rfxtrx433 , broadlink

Best regards!

This is the motor I think: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAjmj6-926o

In cas I buy this for test. What should I sign it to? Or is there as similar not expensive blind motors: 80-90 euro? 433 mhz. And how do zipabox decide where the blind is? If you want half closed?

photo

No, that's a bigger motor on this video, maybe the same factory and RF protocol, but the size is much bigger, 35mm maybe. Your guy is selling RollerTrol-mini motors 18mm.

If you can send a motor and a remote to Zipato for testing, email them on support@zipato.com and they will guide you. But maybe they have this motor already, just under different brand?8270340768

I need 6 motors so maybe it could be worth it. 6+1 to zipato=7 motors 80 euro= 560 euro vs other brand 150*6=900 900-560=340

This means I could earn 340 euro buy sending one motor to Zipato, but if they could send it back to me when they are finished with integration, in that case I will buy immediately!

But I still wonder how it would work if you, lets say want them half down and that you want Zipabox to control that!

The device understands 3 RF-commands: UP, DOWN, STOP. The commands are 1-way, device doesn't send anything back to report its state. But if Zipabox can send all 3 commands, then you may use the Rule Creator to create a scene with all shades half-closed by sending:

  1. DOWN, wait 20sec, UP, wait 10 sec, STOP

Or, better, control the brightness in the room if you also have a light sensor:

  1. If Time before lunch and room sensor luminosity lower than 300 lux, then rollershade UP, wait 3sec, STOP.

If Zipabox is able to send all 3 commands to RollerTrol shades, then possibilities are endless, let's hope they'll add support :)

Oh, almost forgot, I've developed a set of 3d-printable hubs for this 18mm RollerTrol-mini motor to fit into 24mm shade tubes! Resize the outer parts to fit 22-28mm tubes, do it or ask the nearest 3d-printing service: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/iZXcia49Itb

Don't use duct tape in moving parts ;)

Have you seen the new IKEA Tupplur tubes? They are new type from aluminium pipe not the ones in steel. Does your 3D print work with them?

Can you control speed on motor? Or more exakt positioning? If you hav many? You want them to go down at exact same time? Same power or signal?

Best regards!

Yes, my parts (hubs) will fit it printed in ABS plastic 1:1 scale. 23mm outer cylinder diameter, 24mm rib width. So, 6 protrusions in your pipe, 8 ribs on hub, - maybe you'll have to cut (mill down with knife) one rib on each hub - if it crosses one of 6 protrusions of pipe. But because ABS plastic is soft, best case scenario is you just push it and it fits :)

Exact positioning only when you first set travel limits (maximum up and down states). Speed control is unavailable for RollerTrol. But you can measure the speed at which it always moves down (slow) and up (real slow), then calculate time needed to move half way to give STOP command.

All RollerTrol curtains operate on one frequency - each "channel" is just a unique ID number, so you can create as many scenarios as you wish (http://rollertrol.com/instructions). You can assign a roller to your remote controller multiple times, creating virtual groups! Let's say you have 4 curtains in Kitchen and 2 in Bedroom. Channels 1-4 operate each one of curtains in Kitchen, channel 5 operates all curtains in Kitchen altogether, channels 6-7 operate Bedroom curtains separately, channel 8 for them simultaneously... And channel 9 for all curtains in home. Easy!

By the way I locked at: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.XLT50+Apollo.TRS0&_nkw=LT50+Apollo&_sacat=0

150 euro aprox...

And I don't really know how to control them.

Best regards and hope Zipato consider this offer?

Only waiting for Zipato to answer.

Any chans you can publish the 3D model on Shapeaways?

Or how can I order it with out signing in?

photo
1

I think best way is to ask your local 3d-printing service. And I don't have Shapeaways account, only Thingverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:872137 - just download it and choose where to print.

No answer from Zipato

It is completely proprietary protocol. We gonna need to have one sample here in our lab. If someone is interested to send it to us, please send an email to hello@zipato.com.

I talked with the seller of the motor and apparently Telldus also hade problems to decode the signal but they apparently managed by the help of someone from there forum.

Here are links that can give Zipato help.

But it will take at least 2 weeks before I get the curtain motors. I will send one two Zipato as son as I get them. And the seller has told me others will be able order the motors. I have also talkt to my frind about the 3D print and maybe he can sell that to thos how want to use it. I will get back on the subject in a cople of weeks.

There is also a link with a zwave control unit.

Hope Zipato give me a adress and can make use of the links I sent!

Sincerely, Jacob W

Hi there! Now I wait for Zipato will fix support for the blind motor.

I got the blind motor 2015-06-22, shortly there after I sent the extra engine to Zipato. 2015-06-30 got Zipato blinds engine. Now I'm just waiting for them to implement the engine. So far I use Tellstick to control it. See in the image below.

I really hope Zipato increasing the development, all other 150 apps on my phone has been updated about 10 times since Zipato updated its app. I hope it does not take more than a week to add some code to a single Blind engine to operate.

Do not know how many people are working on Zipato but too little resources in some parts of the development, it seems.

Here are instructions How to connect the end positions.

Hope this will change in the future!

I really hope they implement support for this as soon as possible :) The RollerTrol blind-motors is the reason why I bought the Zipabox with the 433 Mhz module.

Some things to improve but almost there!

Great news! Thanks a lot, Domagoj!

Jacob, also appreciate you donating those blinds for the test lab.

One question remains: is rfxtrx433e USB module supported yet?

In case of old Zipabox w/o. the 433 antenna, do I have to buy the 433 expansion module, or can I connect the rfxtrx433e USB transceiver to my ZipaBox to operate BOFU/RollerTrol/Hasta motors?

photo

You need the 433 Mhz expansion module. But there stil is some problems with configure the blind so that the App% match the reality.

It takes about 20 seconds for my curtains to go down and about 26 to go up and at the moment you can't configure that. But hopefully they will fix this soon.

This aplies to al 433 mhz devices that not send feedback.

But full down and ful upp is possible. Without problem.

My ide is to add time in seconds, configuration that match my times. Then 50 % would take about 10 seconds in my setup. And from down stat about 13 seconds.

And i would also like a "DOWN" "UP" "STOP" button in combination with the beautiful animated app interface. I was surprised over how beautiful the app interface was. Unfortunately % dose not match reality.

The "DOWN" "UP" "STOP" command could also be used to start a dimmer cycle when it comes to Nexa dimers. and a stop button that stops the light level.

The blind motor costed 80 euro so with in a couple of month I think I would like it back. But I will think about it. But there is no hurry.

Best regards Jacob!

Yeah, I know this requires 433 module. My question is, can I use the RFXCOM USB module instead? It is still unclear if this thing is supported at all: https://community.zipato.com/topic/support-for-rfxcom-433mhz-ii
