Send SMS notification without Internet
Need Answer
Well I must admit that I do not own a zipabox yet, but I'm really thinking about it.
Anyway; what I meant was, is a connection with the zipato server required for notifications (in combination with the security module) (as shown on this page:http://zipato.com/default.aspx?id=27) or I should use the 3G module to send SMS ?
If I have another system on my network like i.e. a RaspberryPI with a 3G dongle attached, can I use it to send SMS ? Is there a way to match an event and to send a custom signal for example to the RaspberryPI ?
Thank You in advance.
Regards
Riccardo
No connection
Real-time notifications may not work
I suppose it will work.
Actually, I am using an android phone (an old samsung ace) with PAW server running on it (connected on my wifi network and always plugged on AC and hidden behind the TV stand. You can send local http requests when alarm is triggered. The http request is then used to send sms and call my number.
It's only using the local network so it will work even if there is no more internet connexion.
I bet you can do the same thing with your rasberry.
