Serial Module not showing up in Device list

Under Consideration

I just setup my new Home Controller with a Serial Module attached. I see the home controller module but not the serial module. There is not an Add Device Option.

Dear Mike,

serial module won't be shown in device manager by default, like our other modules. Try to connect device to serial module and see if it works like it should.

I rebooted the Controller with the Serial module connected. No change.

I disconnected the USB cable to my UPB PIM and rebooted. No Change.

Should I be able to see the serial module in the Control Center under the device list or just what is connected to the module (i.e. PIM or a serial device)?

I have a Simply Automated UPB PIM, Is there a way to add new device support? Can I add my own code to the interface? SA and HAI are the two leading UPB manufacturers from my experience and should be considered.

Shouldn't I see the Serial module in my device list?

No, you won't be able to see serial module in the UI.

If your SA UPB PIM uses the same protocol communication as PulseWorx UPB PIM that we support, you should be able to see, if you properly connected the PIM with the serial module, UPB network listed in the UI after a Zipabox restart.

If you don't see UPB network listed, that probably means that your PIM doesn't understand message protocol implemented for PulseWorx PIM.

If you send me your Zipabox SN at zcerovski@3plus.hr, I will connect remotely to your box and confirm that.

If that turns out to be true, I may consider to try to support your PIM remotely if you have some documentation about the protocol and when I find some time.

Please note, that I can't promise any positive result working remotely.

Maybe you can consider to send your PIM and some devices to me.

Email sent with details.

I have a UPB network that has a mix of SA and HAI/Leviton UPB devices. The PIMs work interchangeably with the devices. (HAI or SA PIMs talk to all UPB devices).

I use UpStart software to setup the devices and used to have a Leviton Omni automation controller to manage the devices.
