Server change log!

HB shared this idea 11 years ago
Under Consideration

I wish Zipato at any suitable place put out a Server Change Log.

So we can see what changes has been done on the server side of this system!

(otherwise there is no way to know if a change has been made or not)

I'm pretty sure that Zipato not make direct live update of the server software.

In one way or another way, they have some form of version control and controlled release process.

So what I would like to see is a simple Server Change Log:

where you see:

- Version and/or date

- The bug fixes introduced

- What new features added

- Other changes such as support for new modules.

This information, I am pretty sure exist internally at Zipato, but it would be great if it also was communicated to the users so they do not grope in the dark and must test their way to discover news...

Zipato: Communication is the key to success!

Not saying it just to be funny, it's very true for a product like ZipaBox.

I guess that's what we see under messages upon new release?

No, Zipato is doing changses of server software...

Example is the work with naming/room and also added support for Wall Plug and lots of other thing...

And no word about it what I can see...

Messeges look to be more about firmware updates...

What I asked for here is the server side updates!

Don't missunderstand me, ofcourse it is good Zipato is working.

But they have to communicate what they are doing and what the plan for the nearest future is.

The "ZipaBox" as I see it has these 4 parts:

- The physical HW Zipabox.

- the firmware inside the box

- the Control Center on the web/server with dashboard and rule Creator (servers with backend database)

- iPad/iPhone App (android?)

All 4 has to work and work together as one functional system.

And changes and updates in all of them is similar important to plan and communicate!
