Hello, you're going to integrate a module to support the Z-Wave Plus?

I would like to know this as well. I wonder if this can be done in a module or if the zipabox needs a hardware revision? Would be nice to hear from Zipato how and when they plan to upgrade to the current gen z-wave.

Firmware 0.9.999 the release notes said:

Added Z-Wave Plus compatability

Not sure if this can been seen as a true solution unless no new hardware is needed for support.

new hardware is necessary for the z-wave plus to work as plus.

1. you can use a z-wave plus device with the older ones (300-400 chips) with no problem but you will then not gain the new functions from the new plus (500 chip) because the 500 will automatic downgrade to the old standard. which leads to nr 2.

2. To gain all the new benefits from the 500 chip ALL devices need to be 500 plus devices and YES ALL also the controller.

3. So the controller needs new hardware inside!

The Zipabox already has the new zwave +. Only some old boxes don't have it.

And you can mix zwave+ with zwave.

User will notice:

From both, device and controller side it, following will be noticable:

1. better range

2. interoperability ( means all z-wave+ devices will work out of the box with our controller, no matter if they are supported or not)

Now, everything else, network routing table, heal network, etc. depends on controlelr and their logic (brain) not on the z-wave+ standard and it is not mandatory that whole nettowrk is z-wave+

Please provide some documentation. Or are you joking?

Hello HeroS,

Thanks for your reply and I just read that you say "The Zipabox already has the new zwave +. Only some old boxes don't have it."

How could we know if the Box I purchased has a "zwave + " controller or a "zWave" controller ?

From all documentation I could read, I never read that Zipato has upgraded their box hardware with zWave + chips.

Thanks in advance

I'm just new to this and will be buying a system shortly. I have got relay confused. I have asked different people and I get different answers. Do the Zipabox support Z-Wave Plus?

- It is clear from the z-wave aliance that Zipabox have had the certification for more than a year. But is this implemented?

- There is no Z-Wave Plus logo or text (what i can find) on the web page indicating that the Zipabox now are Z-Wave Plus complaint.

- The dealers I have asked has not been informed about the compliance.

- The boxes I have seen nor the documentations with the dealers do not say anything about Z-Wave Plus complaisance.

- This forum thread have been here for 8 months and what i can see, Zipato has not confirmed nor denied Z-Wave Plus complaisance.

- But i do have mail from Zipato's support confirming that Z-Wave Plus chip has been in the unit for the last year.

Wouldn't it be in the interest of Zipato to tell the world? Why are they not talking about it on their web page? Why are thy not answering on this forum?

Have anybody with a new box tried out the Z-Wave Plus functionality?

I like to have some clear answers before buying my new system.

I would like to purchase this product, but ONLY if it has the zwave plus chipset inside of it. If there is no way to know for sure, then I will not bother.

Hi,

the Zipabox will support Z-Wave Plus.

I tested already a few Z-Wave Plus Devices, and they worked fine.

To be sure to get the newest Box you can have look into my Shop.

But i never heard of some "old" models that don´t support Z-Wave Plus.

Zipabox was the first controller with the 500 series chip, almost 2 years ago. It is Z-wave plus certified which can be seen on Z-wave alliance web pages.
