Turn on hallway light

Hi,
Id like my hallway light to be turned on (40%) upon opening of hallway door.
- Arival to home
- Opening for guests
- etc.
But i do of course want to turn it of when i leave... Any ideas?

In order to achieve desired effect, depending on scenario which you are trying to capture with rule creator, you can vary from simple rule to more complicated one.
For example; if you want to turn the light on when motion detector detects motion in hallway try following:
when motion sensor MOTION
light set value 40
if motion sensor NO MOTION
light set value 0
other example for more complex rule, please see attached picture.This rule combines motion detector and door sensor.

Only one door/window sensor is not enough. You will need one motion detector in the hallway. This way, you can make a rule which will consider whether the motion is detected prior to door opening or not.

And how to difiriciate between leaving home and open for guest?
Check for motion after door is closed?
So for guests and arrival, if motion is detected, door change state turn on the light.
For both, wait join... If motion not detected turn it off.
