Need Answer

Hello,

I know it is possible to update the firmware of Fibaro modules since the 2.1 versions. How is it possible with the zipabox ? Otherwise, how is it possible?

Fred

The Z-wave protocol has a specific command class for updating the firmware of Z-wave devices. This command class is not mandatory. This is why there aren't many devices that implement this command class.

The Zipabox does not support this command class at the moment but support will be added sometime in the future.

Bear in mind that even when we do add support for this command class, we still need the device manufacturers to provide us with firmware updates. It's entirely possible that not all of them will be willing to cooperate.

Ok, thank your for this detailled answer!

Do you think Fibaro will give you these informations?

Well, the easiest solution for us is to simply add the necessary functionality to Zipabox so users can update the firmware of their devices. The users themselves will have to acquire the necessary firmware files.

It is a good idea :).

My Fibaro dimmer 2 is behaving ver unreliable with the S2 switch and I realy want to update the firmware on it. what do I do?

Or is it Zipabox that make it react unreliable.

Are any one els having problems with the S2 input?
