Virtual Thermostat not detected by Alexa
Known
In an attempt to fix my issue with Alexa not being able to control my thermostat (always said it was switched of) I separated my cluster, deleted all virtual devices, joined my cluster back and then I added the thermostat.
The idea was that I would make sure I only had one thermostat and that Zipato "placed" it in the correct location....
Well - the thermostat is back up and running and appears to work just fine - but, Alexa can not discover it. I deleted all devices in Alexa smart home section and did a complete rediscover.
My old devices shows up, but not the thermostat.
No connection
Real-time notifications may not work
Hello MaLi,
We will test what the issue is about, and let you know when we have some more information.

FYI
If I add a thermostat to either my Cluster controller or (when cluster is separated) Zipatile - Alexa fails to detect the virtual thermostat.
Adding a thermostat to ZipaBox is detected by Alexa.
Thank you !

Hi Mali,
sorry for the late reply,
you need to go to the Alexa portal and re-add new device which is in this case the Cluster, since you registered zipabox to alexa. After you add zipabox in a cluster the device is "lost" in the cloud and the new device is the cluster, not zipabox.
After that you need to sync and tell alexa "Alexa discover my devices" so it discovers the devices in the Cluster.

I'm not sure I understand...
At no point in the Alexa integration, adding of Zipato Skill, Discovering Devices, etc. do I get a request which "box" I'd like to assign Alexa to / like Alexa to use.
I did check the settings section and I did delete the Zipato Skill and tried to add it once again but no question about which box to use.
I did delete all devices and do a complete re-discover, but the Thermostat still doesn't show up.
Many Thanks,
// Magnus

Hi, can you restart your devices and try re-adding device to alexa skill again? I did a reset of alexa for you.
Then choose the cluster when the zipato skill asks you.
Best regards

Hi,
That's great ! This time I had a choice to select the "box" (only the cluster showed up) and once I went through that and re-discovered the devices the thermostat showed up and is working just fine with Alexa.
Thank You very much !

Hi,
great to hear that, people often have issues when they put the device into a cluster, the cluster is a "NEW" device which incorporates all other devices. So when you use Alexa you need to "tell" Alexa you have a new device.
I will put this into the community so others can fix the problem.
Best regards
