Which solution do you suggest for an alarm when we know that it is easy to jam zwave?

Need Answer

- Do you have algorithm to detect jamming ?

- Do you suggest to use two protocols at the same time? (the probability to hack two frequency is less)

- Do you suggest to use wires, how?

- Do you suggest to not use zipabox for managing an alarm?

I know it is the same problem with all the box that use radio frequency. But because it is possible to plug new hardware part on the zipabox (Zigbee, KNX...), may be you already think about it ;)

If you have some good ideas, could you detail please?

Regards,

Fred

Sebastian gave an information about the siren on another issue "Wich kind of wired alarms does the baclkup module support?":

"Currently, we support only DSC wired panel, but we are also working on Paradox now."

We are working on "Security module". I hope we will present this module in April during the ISC West. It will have a possibility to connect up to 6 regular wired sensors directly on it. Also, it will have a relay for outdoor wired siren.

This can server as a backbone for security application, so customers can easily upgrade the system by using additional sensors based on Z-wave...

Regarding the jaming or any other problem which can occur, don't forget that Zipato is automated monitoring station. Once the problem occur, you can always be alerted by the cloud which is not able to communicate with the device. For example, in the case someone is jaming your Zipato network, Zipabox will not be able to get "keep alive" signal from any device (neither lights and power modules) and you will get a notification by SMS about it. Currently we are testing this functionality and this is why you see "!" mark and "offline" mark on some devices sometimes. We are marking the device with "!" if it doesn't send the "alive" signal once in certain (set option) and with "offline" if it doesn't send it neither 3 times in a row.

I think this could be a much better protection, as it also include protection against "vandal act" in which case you will also be notified about unavailability of the system.

Great :)

Do you have a list of wired sensors that will be compatible?

This is a very good news, you really need that safety whether a priority and if you can find a reliable solution with the Z-Wave protocol, it will be wonderful.

In France, they spend television émissons on burglaries that are large increase in and it shows that a simple GSM jammer can neutralized a wireless alarm and now increasingly burglar uses a GSM jammer, it's sad to show it on TV.

Thank you to your team for its support.

Hi there!!!

I'm the owner of a Napco GEM P3200 alarm panel.

How can I connect my alarm system to Zipato box or security module.

Mention that the Napco company, which deals a big percentage of the alarm systems in the USA, has released in the market two modules that can easily connected to the P3200 panel.

The NL-MOD connects the panel to a TCP/IP network and pass coded signals to a PC for further process.

The IBR-ZREMOTE is a module that by itself acts like z-wave controller.

How do you think could I integrate my alarm's sensors to zipato using any of the above or any other part or module.

Many thanks in advance, Bill.

Is the alarm module available for purchase?

Not yet. We are still working on production preparation.
