Wired zone with Security Module

Hello,

I fail to configure the Security Module and the associated Wired zone. First, I had some troubles to view the Zone in the Secuity Widget. I correctly untick the checkbox "Security Module Zone 1" - "hidden" but nothing appears : in the windows "security", I create the partition but no sensors was avaible in order to create the zone. Finally, the sensors appears when I change the language from French to English... Strange...

Now my problem is that the zone never change their state. The 2 zones are configured in "Normaly Closed Zone". One zone is connected, the other one is not. If I understand correctly how it works, the one which is connected should mention "Inactive" and change status on movement detection. It is not the case, it's always Inactive. And the other one (which is completely disconnected) says "Inactive". It should be like it detect something, isn't it ?

I don't understand what I am missing.

Thanks for your help !

In fact, I use motion sensors from a previous installation and they have their own power supply. The embeded led turn on correctly each time a movement is detected.

Anyway, I tried with a simple switch and it is not working. At this time, all zones are disconnected and the zipabox see them inactive ! The table EVENT stay empty for every zones.

Same problem. two wired zones connected in NC configuration.

Connected the sensors to AUX+/-, with zipabox and battery disconnected (No supply).

The two zones appear as inactive motion sensors.

The state changes on the motion detectors themselves, but no event and no change on the dashboard of the zipabox.

Hello Michel,

I'm happy to see that I am not the only one that have a problem with the security module. Did you resolve your problem ?

After the end of my holidays, I had some time to test again the Security Module and it's still not working !

Yesterday, as I mentioned in a previous message, I short-circuit the Zone 1 (Z1 and

COM) with a basic bistable switch. Each time the switch is actioned, few

seconds later, the Zipabox green led shutoff few milliseconds. My comprehension of this is that the Hardware is doing his job. But on

the IHM, nothing change (neither the Event table, neither the Security

Widget).

I tried to move the Security from the left side to the right side, it's always the same issue.

Best Regards.

Hello Emmanuel

I have spent hours and I was not able to setup correctly this security module.

I tried to verify your experience with a switch. Zipabox led switches off a few ms but not in relation with the operated switch.

I tried something else. My loops are normally closed. That means that I have to change the configuration of the two sensors (the native configuration is "single end of line resistor").

In order not to have to change the configuration, I transformed my loops an sigle end of line resistor by adding a 22kohms resistor in the circuit of each loop.

By the same time, I have short-circuited the four unused zones with a 22kohms resistor each.

Deleted the alarm partitions and security module to clear all.

Switched off the power and the battery.

Power up.

Yeepee, the new security module is there. Just unhide the two module zone sensors.

After synchronization and refreshing the browser, yeeppe the two sensors appear in the sensor widget...but inactive.

Created a new alarm partitions with two zones.

Alarm away; the zipabox led becomes red.

Moving in the detection area. Detected by the motion sensor. I hear the contact of it.

But nothing, sensor in the widget stays inactive, siren doesn't wake up.

I am tired.

Added a third zone with IN+ IN- in the alarm partition.

Synchronization

Armed away; the zipabox led becomes red

Connected 9V battery between IN+ and IN-

Should setup the alarm, isn't it?

Siren doesn't wake up, sensor security model input stays inactive.

Nightmare

I can not login in the support thread. password or username invalid. Why?

How can I obtain new username and password?

Nevertheless, since I have bought this awfull security module, I am not able to setup it correctly, my two wired zones stay definitively inactive, so my house is no more under alarm. It is a nightmare.

A little hope with the last firmware 999.1, but after a carefull install of all components, same bad result.

I don't understand why this security module doesn't do what it should do.

Just a question : does somebody have a security module working correctly?

Few weeks ago, the Zipato team loaded on my box a new firmware (wich seams to be the 0.9.999.1 in a beta version). Some bugs have been corrected and the security module is now working ! The zones are correctly updated each time a detector is activated.

I don't understand why this security module doesn't do what it should do.

In order to resolve my problem, the Zipato team has :

  • loaded the last firmware wich correct Security Module Bugs
  • deleted all partitions and zones
  • recreated partitions and zones from scratch

Maybe you can try the same procedure.

A new hope with last firmware 999.2, but the security module still doesn't work.

The 6 wired zone sensors (NC with motion sensors) stay definitively inactive.

Of course, I have tried once more to uninstall completely the security module and made a new install.

If somebody could help me???

Hi Tom,

After investigation and tests remotely performed by your comprehensive staff, the conclusion was that my security module was defective. I got a RMA and now I will replace this module.

Thanks to the support team.
