Zipatile Rule Synchronisation

Hi,
I'm experiencing difficulties synchronising rules on the Zipatile.
The only workaround that I've found is to unplug the device, wait until the internal battery runs out, plug it back in again and then resync on the device, is there an alternative ? given that its wall mounted unplugging it is really not ideal.

What is generally the problem? Does the synchronization on the right (rules) not go through? What happens when you just synch on the left (without the rules)?
Is the zipatile offline when you have failure (the wifi icon is off a couple of seconds when you wake up the screen)?
