Zipato GSM module availability and function

I noted from a youtube video that Zipato demonstrated the use of a USB dongle back in 2013.
Is one available for the UK yet? If so does it function solely as a backup internet connection or can it also be used to send SMS messages?

Does that mean you handle SMS's via some internet gateway?
If so then my question would be: Does it work for the UK?

By the way, do you have an "approved" dongle that works? It seems that this is a "must" for a security system because otherwise the perpetrator could simply cut the telephone cable and you would be stuck!
