Hi Guys,

You can connect to the security expansion module as in the attachment. The following video will also help you or you can email support@zipato.com.

Hello,

I did what is described below however when z1 and com are open , door is in active state and not closed. When z1 and com are connected door is inactive and not open

There seem to be something wrong,

In addition where do I connect tramper cables?

it all depends what kind of detector you are trying to use. Is it NO or NC?

Hello

It is normally open( I declared it in zipabox)

So when not connected door should be seen as closed

And when z1and com are connected door should be seen as opened

Try to swap it around if this helps.

Sorry maybe I was unclear I declared security module zone 1 as a door sensor normally closed and connected two wire to z1 and com respectively.

When I short z1 and com it says inactive when unconnected is says active

But never says close or open ( don’t you think it should when shorted or unshorted?

Appreciate your help what do you mean with swapping, is it using another sensor ?

I don’t have one available yet

Thanks

Active and inactive is correct. The security module doesn't know what sensor you connect. So when it is set to NC and you open the circuit, it will say active.

Thanks is there any way to have close/open informations instead of active/inactive

Do I have to create a virtual sensor ?

probably won't make a difference. Virtual sensors also say active/inactive and virtual switches say on/off. You could open a ticket and ask support if they are able to change it for you......

no, unfortunately this is a flaw of the zipato programming and labelling. I am not sure why a simple sensor that is changed to be a door sensor can not have its status updating to reflect open/close instead of active/inactive, but it just doesn't. It has been this way for years for any sensor that is not officially supported as a door or gate, etc sensor, it just has the status of in/active. Same goes with any other type of sensor, eg motion, water, wind, etc. if you change the devices description from a generic sensor to what it actually is, the status description doesnt change. Sorry.
